About half an hour ago. I got booted off citrix because it was so slow, it just jamed up on me. Right now I'm back at normal speed but citrix is still awfully slow so it's still not at max speed. I'm transfering all the comp appz stuff to my PC, and then I'll transfer the stuff I did here to the server, to keep both syncronized. I need to install an ftp server on the citrix server. But I don't think the IT department would allow that. I should ask for fun though. And I don't even know if it would let me install. Probably not.

Red: Having worked for the IT Department in question, there would be a few issues with installing an FTP Server on the Citrix Servers. Mainly that there are numerous servers and installing an FTP server would then require more maintenance. Secondly, a hole would have to be opened in the Firewall to allow traffic through, thus creating a security issue. Thirdly, it would install, but given the above, it would not be practical...

Yeah I figured it would have been an issue, but I meant a client not a server (my bad). But I think the way it works is that the windows environment in citrix is virtual, once I log off it's basically like clean installing windows. Given that my C drive is actually my home C drive it would probably confuse whatever installer that does it.

But the way it is now is not too bad since I can open a full screen session and just drag and drop files, it's just very slow to get the 2 windows opened in the right folders, especially over sympatico.
