What is Tragedy?

George Bush visits an elementary school and sits in on one of the classes,
which is in the middle of a discussion on words and their meaning. The
teacher asks Mr. Bush if he would like to lead the discussion of the word
"tragedy".

So, the illustrious leader asks the class for an example of a"tragedy".
One little boy stands up and offers: "If my best friend, who lives on a
farm, is playing in the field and a runaway tractor comes along and knocks
him dead, that would be a tragedy."

"That's wrong", Bush shouts. "That would be considered an accident."

A little girl raises her hand: "If a school bus carrying 50 children drove
over a cliff, killing everyone inside, that would be a tragedy."

"You are completely incorrect", shouts the President. "That would be what we would consider a great loss."

The room goes silent. No other children volunteer.

Bush searches the room. "Isn't there someone here who can give me an
example of a tragedy?"

Finally at the back of the room a small boy raises his hand. In a quiet
voice he says: "If a plane carrying President George Bush were struck by a
missile and blown to smithereens, that would be a tragedy."

"Fantastic!", exclaims Bush. "You are absolutely right. Can you tell me
why that would be a tragedy?"

"Well ...", says the boy, "it sure as hell wouldn't be a great loss, and it
probably wouldn't be an accident either!"

Ever see Letterman? They make good burns about Bush. I was watching it one time and the title comes up with the american flag and it says: "GEORGE BUSH CAUGHT LYING" Then it shows actual footage of George Bush at the podium in a hawaiin shirt. He gets up and says: "Hello, IT'S GREAT TO BE HERE" then it just ends there. Hehehe, what a burn. Gotta love it when polititians words are used against them in a humerous way :biglaugh:

Ya. I wonder why he was EVEN elected. So far, whenever a BUSH was elected, a war was ALSO elected. Well, I guess their slogan should be, "VOTE BUSH AND GO TO WAR!". Kind of makes me feel happy to be a Canadian. People love us more! :biglaugh:

Haha true. If iraq attacks us the US will come to our rescue, if the US attacks us, Iraq will come to our rescue. Either way would be fine, since either country would be using weapons made in the US.

LOL, what a good comparison. But then again? Who would attack Canada? I mean, that's just pitiful. Besides, I think a missile would freeze open entry from the United States border. We fight missiles with blizzards :roflmao2:

haha I would like to see tanks trying to get in here, especially Timmins. Either they would get stuck in snow, or cave in a sink hole.

LOL. Ya. I think if a tank ever came in Timmins, the people driving it would freeze to death. We'd be like: "Should have worn a parka and a touque". And I think they would never stand a chance against our allies: The snow removal machines! :roflmao2:

Hahaha,
City of Timmins worker: "hmm if I put this missle inside this snow blower..."
2 other workers: "ok, we'll watch"

We probably have a bigger snow removal line of equipment then Canada has a military.

Ya. Snow removal is half decent here (Except when they wake you up at 2 in the morning :banghead: ). Or when you finish shovelling the snow and it plows more into your driveway :banghead: ). But other than that, they're pretty decent with snow removal. However, I wouldn't mind if they kept the snow in the roads every now and then. After all, who wants to go to school everyday? At least then I'd have a worthy excuse :roflmao2:

I wonder if there's actually snow days in college, I hope so, since those are so fun. Problem is, it's not like my school where I do a 5 minute walk, find out school's out, then walk back home. I'd have to take the bus there then back.

Ya, I've had my fair share of snow day angers. One time, I took the city bus all the way to school and I was about to get off at the sportsplex when a girl from my class was getting on and she said: "Ya, they're sending everyone home, so I'd stay on the bus". Ya, we don't get many snowdays in college. It's more of YOUR CHOICE to go or not, depending on whether it would be safe to do so. Mind u, I'm not going to class if all I see outside is white. I'll get my notes online thanks. GOD BLESS YOU CITRIX! <_>

Summer? There was a summer? Hmmm, I don't recall. All I remember was a patch of blueberries and ALOT of rain afterwards. Oh, and lightning. My comp went out 3 times this summer :(. I'm surprised I didn't get a surge (Probably because I unplug my powerbar when that happens).

Yeah we had a summer, I was at camp for part of it, but I worked so missed most of it.... actually I think I was not working then... I forget, I just know we had a 2 week summer. One day was even pretty hot +25, and they said we were the hottest city in Canada for that day.

I bet you did not get snow yet. We did. :D But I don't really qualify it as snow since it melted when it hit the ground.

My summer was probably 1 WEEK. When I went to the cottage for the whole week. August does not qualify as summer because I had to work ALL THROUGH it. Darn back to school shoppers

Haha yeah that must suck since it gets so busy.

Walmart is just as bad. I actually was at the cash behind someone that did their groceries at wal-mart. I never even knew you could do groceries there, but I guess they do sell allot of food products.

Ya, believe it or not, Christmas is MUCH worse than back to school. Everyone wants a computer and they want THE BEST DEAL out there. And most of the time, they are cranky, so it kind of puts a hinder on your day. And my hours are increased, which kind of blows because alot of school stuff goes on then. Well, I hope this year we get more computer staff for that season (Because I need to study for exams :o ). Oh, and here's a tip. If your boss ever asks you to work on boxing day JUST SAY NO!
