Problem with windows update

I have Windows xp home edition on my hp computer, and recently i reformatted my hard drive because of adware problems, but now when I try to use windows update, from the menu or off microsoft.com, it downloads but when it tries to install the downloads it stops responding. I tried to update my graphics driver for my SiS 650 card (which suck yeah) and it froze when i tried to install it also. It downloads the file fine but when i install it it freezes the installation program. My computer still works fine after i shut down the frozen program, but i can't get any updates. Any help would be great! THanks

Hmm... not too sure on that one. Did you have any problems with any other installation programs? (Just curious). If so, it could be an issue with the Windows Installer on your system not functioning properly. Let us know

Thanks,
