Check out this crazy compression! It's all text files, but that's still pretty good.

Dear namespaces! That is quite good. :) Have you tried the 7-Zip format? I was under the impression that it had a higher compression ratio, but I haven’t really compared the two. :)

Yeah tried it, and black hole is better. 7-zip is faster though which is good for normal compression, but for archiving smaller = better. When I need to compress like over 20 gigs I usually just let it on overnight since it can take like an hour so I don't want to sit there with a slow PC for that long. This particular compression took about 15-20 minutes.

yep! From my experience anyway. Only thing is that it's slow like I mentioned, and not allot of programs support it since it's not really well known. I use power archiver which has winzip and most other utlities beat in terms of supported formats and features.

Haha! You've converted at last! I've been using BH for almost two years now... I was waiting for a new convert to the fold. lol.

Yeah was using it a bit here and there but I've been using it way more lately for archiving stuff. Imagine this, I could fit 10 gigs of logs or other text files on a CD with bh!
