Hey everyone! I'm back on the active posting roster today.

So, I've pushed my AMD Athlon XP 1700+ (Designed for running at 1.47GhZ) to 1.57GhZ with a bit of frequency tuning and minimal temperature increases.

A friend of mine has pushed his system past the 3.0GhZ range. I know at least one of our members has or has tried to overclock his or her pc. I want to hear your overclocking story or experiences.

Overclocking Experiences

I overclocked my AMD 2000+ at one point, just a bit, but even at stock speed it runs way too hot so I usually kept it normal speed. now I switched the chip with the 2700+ that was in my server and put the 2000+ in the server at stock speed. So now I'm slowly overclocking the 2700+. Well the board can't fully handle it so it's running lower, but I'm slowly putting it to stock speed and watching the temps since it's the mobo that increases heat. The cpu is at 45C full load, and is clocked at 2.1Ghz (normal speed is 2.2 I think).

Now that I think of it, it's time to push it up a notch again as I've been running stable at the same speed for a while. the CPU multiplier is at it's max so the only thing I can change is the pci frequency, which is more touchy and can cause unstable operation if pushed too much.
