back online yahoooie!! if you all did not here. the storm last tuesday night knocked over a million people in northern tx off the power grids. just got mine back at 11:50 pm on friday, still not everyones not back on yet, largest storm in history here that had 85 mile per hour winds.
knocked down trees by the thousands people from the weatherford area up to the red river and east to texarcana were with out power.
so big was the storm they called it a once in 100 years storm. had never had one like that in 100 + years.
had to call in 3000 linemen crews from 9 other states to help with the repairs which are still being done., they hope to be completed by noon saturday june 5 th, 2004.
one lineman from another state is burned and in critical condition. his cheerybucket got caught in the power lines. ( i guess when he cut the tree off them one of them snapped up under the bucket.? no one said how yet?)
but he thinking the line was dead tired to cut it to unhook the bucket. witness's said there was a loud pop and flames engulfed the bucket. they got him down but he is in bad shape.
i am sure everyone here will pray for him like i have already done.
i mean the man came to help and got torched for it. not really fun.
a little known fact. the lineman job is the deadlyest one in the world when it was started 96 lineman out of 100 lost their life in a month on the job. ( that includes the telegraphe lineman so some of them might have been killed by arrows in the back?)
i hope this guy makes it out alive.
