I recently bought a new computer using XP. Several weeks later, it crashed and I used the restoration CD to get it up and running. I soon noticed that the auto complete feature was not operative as it had been before the crash. I went to the area indicated where I could initiate the auto complete, checked all the right boxes, but it has never worked. I find all kinds of instructions on how to disable auto complete, but there's nothing as to what I can do to restore it....can anyone please help?

Maybe this will help:

Does the autocomplete work on some forms, no forms or just doesn't work on the URL bar?

sounds like you lost one of the updated files when you restored the os.
go to windows update and see if it has any updates for your system in the recomended area. and pick one (except the .net framework ) i dont like that and dont get it.
but if you get one of the other ones it might just re-add the missing file.?
