Been stealing allot using the random feature and noticed allot of you have not secured your funds.

Not a bad idea to buy at least a cheap item from the mall that has a decent defence, at least as a start. Get the force feild generator thingy and you're pretty secure.

But you need lots of

for that one.

You probably got attacked a bunch of times and if it was the item with the most defence (ex: your only item) then that's the one it will defend with.
When low on cash it's always good to at least have a bunch of low defend items as lot of people are probably stealing with 0HP so even if you have something low, you can block the attack.
You can also use that feature to up the HP of choice for a *reasonable* fee.

So all my defence is pooled together? I mean, does it matter what tool I add the extra defence to?

The way it works is that when someone attacks you, it will use your strongest item to defend. (strongest in terms of defence HP - damage HP does not matter).
So if you have 5 items that are 50000 HP defend and someone attacks with 1000 damage, they loose and you still have 49000 left on that item, but next attack will use the item that is 50000. That's why sometimes you attack someone and it seems the HP does not go down, it's because they have more then one of the same item that has the same HP.
If an attack goes successful, even if the user has more items you still get the cash, but if you try and attack again but you don't have enough damage you can't keep attacking over and over.
