like i said in the shout box i did not know he was still making albums i have one from the 30's or 40's of his called " mantovani christmas carols " man is that old. it is so old the album number is two letters and three numbers.

and the cardbord case has plastic coating on it to make it slick and the cardboard is about three times as think as they were making them in the 1980's.

but you know they had some sort of chemical imbeded in the vinyl to make it static proof and they album has very few scratches because of that.

just i can not find anything out about the album company? it just says made in england.

the album is has a red label with silver printing on it.

the biggest word is London and then the words long playing.

it seems like a very high class album at the time it was made. they said on the case it has a new feature called "ffrr" which is registered trademark for full freq.. recording range. and is only on this companys records. the album number is " LL 913 " if that helps any one here find anything out? i cant i been all over the web looking if anyone has any way of finding out things about england companys please look for me if you can thanks. :)

it was made about 1959.
the London label was a big label when i was a kid back in the 60's, but i think they are a part of history now.
all my searches lead to Decca records http://www.decca.co.uk/

thanks. :) but are you sure about that date?

how did you find out that date i cant find anything on decca about it?

the album is red green and white with a cartoon like angle contucting on it. no other images.

i did find in a later search that it was london records. and i found they are now london shire records or were? as they were bought up by the warner music group. but i cant get any site for them but warner's and they have no mention of london.?

i was thinking it was a 30's or 40's record because i found a site with a bio of mantovani on and it said he started conducting for an orch. in london in 1925 at the age of 16. that is what i based the age of the record on and how old he would be if he is still alive.? i did find that there was a new christmas album released in 2001 so not sure if he is still alive or not.??

i was hoping i found some gold in the attic so to speak.

i was going to convert the album and put it online but if he is still selling albums then i might get in trouble. ?

guess what ??

i can only figure that the servers were shaken up all over the world when i searched for the album the other day and could not find anything. as i have today found lots of places with information.

and my descriptition of it in the last reply was way off base but not completely.

as i have found it on of all places Ebay. some one is saleing it on there the auction ends in four days 4 hours from now which is sunday dec 14th 2003 at 3:46 central usa time so if you want it you got time to go and get it.

but he says it is a 1953 album. not 30's or 40's so you were closer then i was fishyfool not a big surprise because, i am always trying to get older things to make money on :D

but it is only for sale now on ebay at 3.25 cents so my gold in the attic is not more then a couple candy bars..

if you want to look on ebay for it the search i did was for " Mantovani Christmas Carols "

good luck. merry christmas and Thank you. :awesome: B)

I was going to buy that White Christmas cd but it is out of stock. :( The artist's name was familiar but I couldn't place it. Beautiful music, I heard some clips from the cd! I'll make a note on my new calendar to get it for next year. ;)
