for some reason my browser stops every now and then when i try to surf.

it just says in the title bar " Msn explorer not responding "

i have and use internet explorer not the msn ie 6 as that one requires you sign in to the msn sign in pages to use it. i use the old style one that is on the computer not the internet.

and it does not do this all the time just every now and then.

some places i found say that it is caused by spyware or adware trying to take and use the bandwidth up. but i run ad aware and other spyware finders every time i am off line so nothing is able to or is trying to call home from here.

so it has to be something else? maybe something trying to get in?? :banghead:

You might want to try this free program. I had a similar problem and now use this periodically to get rid of junk files hanging around. ;)

from the size of that cache, it sounds like it put the past month of your internet history in there. the site is loading slow now probably because it's no longer loading from cache. what kind of connection do you have?

in any case: tools-->internet options-->settings. set the number in the whitebox (141?) to like 20 or 30.

That was your cache... space it takes up = faster browsing the second time around. Read red's secondary browser. I use Opera on linux and Windows and I love it;.

yep but the thing is i have and run other cleaning programs on a schedule one or every two weeks. so there should not have been that many files to get rid of that was a huge amount of files and i even cleared the cache by the properties button that says clear internet cache.. :(

all that had to be put in doing the last week or two.

and that is a lot because the other programs never find that many. :grade11math:

i read that artical but i am not wanting to get rid of this ie. it is set in my ways us old cow pokes have to stick with what we know. i make my web site with a combonation of tools so it is not a wysiwyg tool site. some of the codes i use would be messssed up by a tool like that and i have to use notepad for them. :awesome:

forgot sorry.

but the box you said to change from 141. is set to 124 so that was more then there was to be in the folder or there were more on the system else where?

:) :) :)
