i know it is a winamp 2 skin but they are making winamp 5 and are getting it to use both winamp 2 and winamp 3 skins so we dont lose the ones we like.

not bad I'm pretty sure that winamp2 skins work on winamp 3 as well. And anyway, there are plenty of people who still use winamp 2... take myself for example I have a feeling winamp 5 is still a little ways away, and we'll just have to wait and see how good it is. It could turn out to be just as bulky as winamp 3 is. OR they could just decide to try to compete with windows media player, and just put way too much crap in it. You can never tell. A lot of popular software companies have been getting feature-itis lately.

first time i did a complete skin for it. most of the other ones i jus keep here for my self and they were just a few changes on some other skins.

but that is the first time i did any more then the main player.

no it is not hard to make it once you figure it out.



but it is all bmps that are used.

you can download the skin it will be saved in the winamp folder in the skins folder.

and it will be a .wsz file ( winamp skin zip file ) just change that to .zip and open it.

you will see all the images on the templete i used. just it is a little trickie to get the words the right size you need a good photo shop to do that.

go to 1001winamp skins and get the templete from there you can see what is to go where and follow the instructions better.

then you can open a skin and see what each bmp on the templete really does.

they took my skin down because i updated it. so when it is back up i am not sure but i hope it is friday the 21st 2003.

you want an easier document on that skinning stuf wldkos let me know i can make this one i did for my sister work on any computer and then zip it up.

i said what each image is to be made for in the template and showed what i did for a idea of what it looked like but it is really simple if your into php or anyother program langauge like that then doing this placing of images on specified locations on one bmp file is a simple thing. more simple the the hello world java script.

you just need to know about layering in photo image program you use.

that is the hardest thing about making these skins.

well the updated skin was not up when i had hoped but it is up now.
