Edit: the poll is now closed! The currency is now officially called Ice Cubes
I think our current forum currency name needs a more original name. We don't really use this yet, but I'm working on it.
(also need to get that UD stat thing completed, I've missed two fridays in a row now.
)
Right now it's called "ITbucks", but I find it's too close to "bitbucks" which is what our ennemies at bitbender tech use, and I don't want to make it look like I just copied off of them. The original idea came from them, but I'm turning it more into a super feature that will beat theirs once we have more features attached to it.
So if anyone has any ideas what we should call our currency, shoot!
I was thinking maybe something like "acorns" or something. Or maybe "ice cubes" but if we can find something that sounds more like a currency it will be good, but on the other hand if we can find a popular word, we'll get better search engine ranking when it's typed.
But I rather get something original, so any ideas you have, post them here! Even if you doubt it will be good, post anyway, it could lead to a better idea.

How about "frozen assets" or "cold cash" or "icicles"
Sorry, my first post here!! That's the best I can come up with yet

Hey welcome, those sounds like good ideas. Let's keep them coming. Something along the "ice" theme is exactly what I'd like.

I can't think of anything but the moment (

I just thought of another one...
frosties, or Kelvins (unit of measurement in chemistry when working with very cold things)
I think I'll add a poll soon and we can vote.

I kinda like Ice Cubes, partly because it can be shortened to ICs, which seems kinda nifty to me, as long as no one confuses them with integrated circuits

Hmm well since this is a tech site, they can be frozen integrated circuits, as in frozen inside an ice cube. Hmmm sounds interesting.
No matter what though, the symbol is still going to be $ to keep things simple, but the name will be whatever we vote for. I really like ice cubes too, I think that's what I'll go with, but the poll is still open for more votes if we can break the tie.

I dunno. I think it might be a good idea to change the symbol too. I mean you could just throw a little ice cube icon in with the smilies and use that. It would just makes things a little more interesting and drive home the fact that this is fake forum money and not anything of any real value.

Hmm that's true. I can just replace
with the image, (not $ in case we do talk about real money
) and it will be made easy to use.
I'll have to change it in the cybervillage in every single situation programmed but that's fine. Will do. (replace function does not work in this case... php uses $ as a prefix to variables
)
I think I'll finilize the decision and we can call it ICs for ice cubes, what does everyone else think?

Now, to create a new symbol. I want to keep it small enough to fit well in text, and here it is.
To display it simply use two $'s put together.
What do you think?

I noticed it's not easy to make an image look good with text because of different text sizes, so I'll just try to not over use it. We either refer to them as Ice Cubes / ICs or put the image but never both.
