new hard drives
got the pci ata controler card to work also got the new 20 gb seagate hd to work. was a pain to get it to work in windows 98 but i did.
of course it would not have been as much trouble if i had any schooling in this stuff but since i dont
first i had to set up the drivers that was not too hard.
second i had to figure out what was making the bios see the hd and not windows. that did take some time.
but i finaly was either so tired i just did what was normal and did not try and think about it or i am just a super smart person and a genius?
but the rest of you must know this so i will say i was just tired enough to do it with out thinking.
but the hd needed to be FDisked first then formated and it was then useable.
now how did i know about the Fdisk if i never had any trainning in this computer stuff.
i did kind of have some trainning i was trying to learn qbasic by teaching myself on an old 386 30hrz computer did learn some of the programs from that i guess? did not learn qbasic but i got some walking help from all that trying
now if i can just figure out the power supply on the other computer??

FDisk, something I always forget when installing a new HDD.

Yep, forget that, and you'll never see the drive. I wonder what the F in fdisk means. I would think format, but fdisking is not really formatting... I think I know what the F *really* means.
