I'm really going big on this one, I will be programming a sort of village where there will be various places to go and to spend ITbucks, which is probably what I will call our currency unless someone comes up with something else and we can have a vote. So if you have any ideas of what we can call it just let me know.

It will be here: http://www.iceteks.com/forums/cybervillage/

Click on bank to see what I have so far, the first time you open it you will just have a screen asking you to refresh as it will add an entry in the database then use the 5 bucks to make an account. Use the receive feature and enter "Bill Gates" as the account. I put 1 billion dollars in that account so pull up whatever you like. Let's just experiment with the main features for now and report any problems.

Anyway back to the village, this is where the bank will be, and as well as other features to get/loose money such as the lottery and such.

This should be lot of fun! :yo:

Red, I am unclear about how integrated this game is with the forum. :)

40 billion would have been more appropriate... :roflmao2: :roflmao2:

Well it's not quite integrated with it, but the overall features will be, for example post counts giving money, ability to "buy" forum features (still not sure what though, changing a user's title and adding a word in the filters as a joke is all I can think of now). But once it's all setup, I will make it so the profile shows information such as how much the user has in the bank/pockets etc and there will be a "snatch" feature to try to get all the money in the user's wallet, but this will require more "health power" then the victim. The shop section will have items that will be needed to try and rob the bank as well. It will be like a big game vs everyone, but not as real time.

Oops, did a change so it gives you money at first, but I forgot to upload the file. :roflmao2:

I'm in Red Hat right now and don't have access to the local copy of the site but I'm going back in Windows and I'll fix it. :) I'm probably going to add the post count increment as well.

Hmm, I was getting permission denied, but it flashes so quick that it seems like it uploaded. I don't know why it does that. I had to delete everything and upload it back. Should be working now. :)

Cool

There's a few bugs I found right now so I'm fixing them. I forgot to make the rename feature check if the new name exists. That's not good. :D

I made it so when people register, it automaticly adds the entry in the bank database and gives $5 to start off with. Once I get the few bugs fixed I'll work on making post count increment it. I'm not sure how I'll make it work yet. I might have a fixed rate, ex: $1.5 per posts, or I might have a changing rate that will sort of be randomized. Fixed sounds easier to program... :D

Check it out now I made the main page nicer! Now I need to get crack'n and program the other features that will go with it. :)

But at least it will give everyone time to gain itbucks by posting. As I implimented the posting incrementation. hint: start and vote in polls.

Yep. Did them in photoshop. I would of saved them as jpg for more quality, but gif is much smaller. Just the background is like 100K lol.

I think it turned out good. It was not exactly what I was planing to do but it's still good. I was planing to have like a road going down with the igloos, but it did not look that great because it's near impossible to get it to tile perfectly.

I just noticed it does not count itbucks for when the quote button is used. I'll see if I can fix that. I think I know why it's not working...

Just for everyon's info I'm working on the IceTeks trivia section which will be quizzes and you can gain more itbucks by getting answers right. You can also loose some by getting answers wrong. Each question can be set individually.

I designed the db structure yesterday, now I simply need to impliment the questions and the algorthms to calculate results etc...

If anyone wants to submit a quiz please PM me. It's best if most quizzes are not any bigger than ~20 questions, 10 questions is preferred but if you go over that's fine. It is multiple choice, so if you send it, try to send it in this format:

Question
possible answer1
possible answer2
possible answer3
EPA
(just put that as it is, it's a marker to tell the script there's no more answers)
Right answer
Money if right
Money if wrong
(negative values permited, will cause money loss)

Make sure there's not more returns than shown. The question must be 1 line.

There can be an unlimited ammount of possible answers, that's why there's the EPA tag which will tell the script to stop listing answers and execute the next html. If it's too much trouble to follow that format you can do it how you like and I'll accept it, but with that format it will be listed much faster. :)

So tak, I'm sure you can come up with an English and math quiz  :P

Don't worry I'll have some computer and telecommunication quizzes as well.

There will also be no limit on how many times you can take a certain quiz.

I think I'll make it so it does not show what questions you got wrong and what the right answers are, that way it will be harder to cheat. (and easier to program :biglaugh: one thing less).

Right now I got the quiz page working, now I need to make it calculate the results and write them to file and do the money thing. I started on this script yesterday. As soon as it's running smooth I'll add it in. I'll probably add an option to add a quiz so anyone can add a quiz. It will probably cost itbucks.

I need to find ways to spend those, so far there's only ways to make 'em!
