I never thought this was a problem. But three times in the last couple days, I've thrown out a net and pulled up a couple serpents and a kraken. When the kraken gets low on life, he pulls back a few tiles before I kill him. Once I kill the rest of the spawn, I can't move my boat in any direction to get to the kraken corpse because I'm surrounded by serpent or water elemental corpses. By the time my boat can be moved, the kraken corpse is decayed, along with the net and possible MiB it has on its corpse.
Is there any way that corpses on water could be adjusted so that boats can sail over them?

Ya I always found that to be a pia but if you think about it, could you really ram your boat through a massive kraken's corpse? Not really. What I suggest is using hotkeys to map your boat commands and bring a smaller boat with you. When you become stuck, take out the smaller boat and go around collecting your loot. I've fished this way for years and have always managed to find a way to get to every single corpse and loot it.

Ok, that sounds reasonable. I'll go grab myself a small boat and see how things work out then. Thanks for the reply.

Here's a few tips when casting nets:
-Cast nets to the side of your boat in a large area of open water
-Map keys so you can easily sail your boat when krakens start to flee
-Buy the smallest boat you can as a backup (Without the dragon head)
-If you become stuck, use the small boat to loot corpses
-The best way to loot corpses from a boat is to nosedive into them. Sail your boat straight into the corpse if you can to get the best shot at looting it. Backing up into it can work too for certain situations

lol I remember that time we put like 4 boats to form a square and casted the nets in the middle. that was fun. Think our record was like 13 at once.

You can get Red to code a quest that gives you a sextant of control. When you double click it it opens up a box with basic arrows for comands like left 1 right 1, forward, back, turn left. ect then you just click it. If he wants I can make up a good Master of the sea quest for it. lol
