Installed New Version Of My Top Site Script

I remade a script for top sites that I will be releasing, so I figured I'd update it as well to make sure it works, which was a good choice since I still had a lot of paths that where \ instead of / and it caused problems on Linux. It's all fixed now.

Just had a pain with chmod, but finally got it to work. For some reason, random files decide to not let me chmod them so I need to download them, delete it from the host and put it back.

Hmm, just found some more bad paths... fixing it now. I hate this windows/linux compatibility stuff!

ok, I think I fixed it all now.

I also added back all the sites. I just left all the points to default though, everyone has more points now anyway, as new registrations will give 5000 points right away.

I am currently trying to load your Bump-A-Site script. I got it installed but am getting an error in the add a site response and also in the Admin area.

I am really excited about getting it to work. It's just what I need.

Can you check it out for me and see if you can tell what is wrong?

Try adding a site and you'll get the error.

Thanks,

Also, email me if you get a chance.

You need to create the directory /confsites/
( http://prizeparadise.com/topsite/confsites/ )

Some ftp clients won't let you upload entire directories with subdirectories so you need to do it manually. Basically, the directory structure should be the same on your site than it is in the "upload" folder. Then you need to chmod everything to 777 including the folders and the folder it's installed in.

I hope this helps yet get up and running. :)

Also, on the main page you get all errors on the black background, it's because it was not able to create the site's profile in the confsites folder.

Oh and make sure to set your .htaccess properly, as I can access the database right now. :) Something I never thought of, this script won't run on a non-apache server. It will, but it would be suicidle to do it because you need to be able to deny access to certain folders (automaticly done with the htaccess)

I am still trying to get it to work. When you say to config the htaccess correctly, you mean just by renaming it? I am not quite sure, should it be:

.htaccess

or

.htaccess.

I chmod'd everything to 777, I am getting closer.

Will keep you informed.

Yeah all you need to do is rename it to .htaccess My readme might be unclear because there's a period at the end, but it's to finish the sentance. :P

You should also have created all the other folders such as adscript, adscript/users etc... also chmod topsite the folder it's in. After that it should work, you will need to delete the current sites though and reput them.

Oh and I tried it again and you just missed chmodding the adscript/users folder. After that you should be all set ;)

Squirrel,

I deleted all the previous IDs and it seems to be working fine.

Thanks for all your help. I look forward to anything else you may be working on.

I'll make sure to give you a great rating at hotscripts.com

Thanks again,

DJ
