Same thing as USA day, but for Canada. What sucks is that it's raining today!
I hope we can just go see the fireworks and stay in the car.
We also watched the celebration in Ottawa - it's nice there, sun, heat. Would love to be there!
Vive le Canada!

There will be fireworks here Friday. This place has grown so, it's hard to get through town at lunch time. Can't imagine what it will be like with a fireworks display.

We never have a fireworks show.
I don't know why though. My mother says we used to have one at David Crockett State Park, but they stopped for some reason.

It's expensive now to have a fireworks display. The pyrotechs have to have so many permits and a lot of insurance.

Yep, it's crazy how expensive it is. I think it's illegal to sell fireworks in Canada as they have to buy them from the US I think... I forget were I heard this exactly though...

Because of the crappy weather today, we went to park my mom's car nearby where they will be and came back home in my dad's. We will just get dropped off and stay in the car to watch.
We did it in advance because it will get very busy!

This sucks. It's raining super hard right now. It's pooring. My mom does not want to go anymore. I don't see the big deal, we will be in the car anyway.
Modern fireworks are triggered by electric blasters, so they would work fine in rain, most likely.

That's a good idea.
Our's used to be on a hill and we could park so close that it looked like we were standing directly under the fireworks. Now they have moved the location and we can't get very close now.
One year we had a thunderstorm before the display. That was kinda neat. Mother nature gave her own show first! I'm sure the pyrotechs were nervous about that!

Ours is over a small lake that is a recreational area, there's parking at places all around with a path to walk around the lake, where the beach is, is where everyone can sit out, we parked the car there, now my parants are gone to get it.
Oh well. Not the end of the world I guess, I just won't be going. "ooooohhh ahhhhhhh" all night "

I don't think they will be canceled, if yes, they should put it on another time, but I doubt they would though...

I got to see the last few fireworks. Me and my dad went outside and we could see them from my house, then we drove to get to a better less blocked location, saw the last one and it was done.

It looks like they have something else to celebrate too.
Vancouver to host 2010 winter games.

I'd love to go, just to be able to say that I've seen the olympics, and just so I can go in BC. Always wanted to go there, as a human, and as a squirrel - they have huge trees there, it would be awesome to see these. Suposely some are big enough to have a tunnel for the roads! Oh, and the olympics would be cool too

I would love to go to British Columbia too, Red.
I would go to Ontario and Quebec first though.
