I think we might have a storm tonight, so I will be shutting off my computer for the night (I think it's the first time I do this since it's built!) so just wanted to let everyone know.

I just realized, my title could be taken as something pretty sick at first glance.

I never crunch at nights since I put my computer into stand-by.
I can't stand the noise when I sleep....

I do not think I will be crunching anymore
. Sorry red, but I have since made MDK9.1 my main desktop and I remember you saying that UD does not make their programs for linux yet. If they do, let me know!

Wow I wish I could stay with Linux like that. Unfortunatly I have too many programs I use that run in Windows. I'd have to start my computer knowledge from scratch by learning every single program over again if I'd want to switch my OS like that!

it is actually very easy red. You would be surprised at how much MDK 9.1 comes with. Everything is working perfectly, software and hardware wise. Installed my printer and scanner perfectly. It has everything windows has, and I think much more (servers, db's, firewalls ). Like I have been saying forever to you,
make a 3 gig partition on your regular machine and install any distro, slack 9.0, RH9, Suse8.1, MDK 9.1 and test it out. There really is nothing to loose.
oh, and remember to find a linux UD for me, since both computers can run the program then and crunch 24/7.

Unfortunatly there's no UD for Linux, but you could use Wine I think, though.
I'll probably do that, do a dual boot. I only have 2Gigs left on my C drive and if I go further I pass the boot cylinder limitation I think, so I might only be able to make it like 1.5 gigs or something.

I have slackened on the crunching today, having been at the cruncher picnic this afternoon
A braai (bar-b-q) and a few drinks. The sun was out and even though it's winter at the moment, it wasn't too cold
3 of us managed to get there, quite something for this country and its circumstances!

Yep! Looking at some of the other picnic reports coming in, others were very well attended
Capt. Trevvie's comment about the cricket (The England vs Zimbabwe test) was also quite right. Ended up drowning the loss in a few large vodka & cokes
Still, with a bit of luck, we'll get another chance to beat them
