I have no clue, maybe someone else can help you. Try removing one piece of hard ware at a time to see if it might be one thing causing it, start by the network card and work your way, or just switch video cards to see if it's actually the video card. Check the setup to make sure your hd settings are ok, maybe it reset for some reason.

Did you press del to enter setup? It should give you 3 startup choices, safe mode, normal or selective...if I remember correctly.

It might be windows ME... hehe ( i use that). You could go in with a boot disk and look around or do what red said, you might have installed too many new things at once.

close the thread red.
should have looked first this is just the cake. only answer i could find on the net anywhere for the trouble i had was the video card was bad.
so i did what i said in the first post and replaced it and the cdrw.
i wasted money when i did not have to. i took the so called experts words on it as being the thing that was wrong.
thats the diploma they have it aint any more then an icon.
no one on this site said it was the video card. which is good they just said they did not know.
i did not bother to scan over the system when i installed the new things i said in the first post.
i should have
my fault for taking the word of so called experts.
the trouble was not the video card. the computer was not booting and only showing the boot up screen for two seconds and shutting down for good reason. which was not the video card.
so when i changed the video card i got the error as listed in the first post in this thread.
the trouble is that a cap.. on the mb. by the amd cpu heat sink blew up.
this cap... is on the ms - 6340 VER: 1 mb. the mb also has N1996 on it in a square with a nikie check mark.
so i wonder if the they made them out of old gym shoes.
the cap.. that blew up is big and green with gold markings on it.. and there are about 10 of them on the mb. this one is in the right place for extra heat to get too it. (beside the heat sink and behind another cap.. that blocks any breeze that might cool down the cap.. that blew up.)
