I often do a little work around to make sure things are in order but sometimes it's something not worth mentioning, this thread will be updated whenever such event is done. To know the date, just see when it was posted.
Starting as of today....
- I added a new category in the photo gallery, and I also added a description feature so all categories will have a description.

- I made a small change to the photo gallery (removed the thumbnails, which are actually the same big images but smaller - so it does not need to load ALL pictures in the cache anymore) and I also added a neat little image rotator on the home page. We are starting to depend more and more on php nowadays.
- oh and I also made a small change to the layout (added cellpading for the text, and added nicer links on the bottom
)

My Turn to post an update, and I did something I'd bet Red didn't think of.
When the new default skin was added (Corona), Red left the IceTeks Logo with the Green Background
, I've changed it to be a white background for the Corona skin and green for this one. As for Lionheart, well, I'll have to try that one out. Just changing logo colors for the skins, everyone.

Yeah! I finally got around at fixing the avatar problem that some of you might of noticed. If you pick one from the gallery, it always sets it the default size of the forum and not it's own size, now it's fixed. I did not code this one though, it was a mod I got for the forum.
Now I'll get us some good avatars. I'll add in the whmis symbols to start us off...

If you noticed on the home page - we now have a news script! Anyone is free to submit news. Sure we might get trolls, but they are the stupid ones that don't realize I get their IP.
Lately there's not much trouble around here, so I'm getting more flexible as for scripts like that. I also check the home page too many times in one hour so if some troll would post porn or something I'd remove it and the last article would be displayed, and I'd keep the IP handy with logs.
So if anyone has tech news - please do post it there! The news forum is for any type of news, so any OT news can still go there, but tech news goes on the home page, and in the news section too, but the home page is the first priority to post, I want to keep it updated as much as possible.

I just upgraded our photo gallery with more options, enjoy.
By the way, check out the
news section once in a while as bigger events will be told there.
edit:
I added a link feature in the news submission form. This will allow us to post news but link to the actual news sites, that way we are not breaking copyright laws by copying and pasting. I think it won't hurt to just copy and paste a bit to add in the first part but let's be careful.
Now that I went around and asked, I can't say "I didn't know".

Check out the article section if you have not. I changed the layout of the article listings and as well as in each article. The feedback is now directly inside the site's layout. When I used to make each article a seperate php file, it was faster to just add the code at the end, but now since we are using a parser (only one file to edit) then I can make changes like this that automaticly affect each article.
I'm also slowly reverting this site into CSS based, so hopefully things will start looking better on non-IE browsers. The only problem is <hr>'s. the only alternative Is making an image for those. But it's not a bad idea, as if I make it 1 pixel width I can stretch it how I want and it will do the same effect and not be a huge file.
I might also add a quick reply box, but that requires changing it in each skin.

I removed all the skins in exepction of the default one. I like adding mods once in a while and having more then one skin makes it a pain. There was only like 6 users using a non-default skin anyway.
Sorry about that. We will now be at 1 skin. Now I can customize this board easly and add more mods.

Also deleted all the skins but the default, see
this thread for more details and to know why it was done.

I just fixed up the home page so that it loads faster, and coded a photo gallery "latest additions" feature instead of the rotator (which made the site load slow). So let's get rid of the "(empty) posted by N/A" by adding more pictures!!!
Oh, and Im still working on the skin problem. There seems to be something strange going on. When I put back the header (which for some reason is not overwritten like I thought) then the site map feature leaves, and after a few refreshes it goes back to no header. I'll see what I can do, so if anything strange happends, call 911.
411 is out of service at the moment.

Yep, and I just chewed the wrong wire this morning. Ouch, 1 million volts in that one. note to self: never chew wires if they have thick insulation, there's a reason for that.
I removed the latest post on the home page - I wanted to put the latest topics instead, but it did not work, so I just said screw it. I would of had to reinstall the old mod - my fault for not backing up! the php include function does not work that great on this server, I'm not sure why. Most mods require it.

Hey All,
Re-instated the flood control for registration, don't get too angry at me.
I re-loaded the page a few times and it seemed pretty stable, unlike last time I re-instated it. If there are any problems with the operation of this feature when you go to register, please feel free to contact either myself or Red Squirrel.
Thanks,
(And I know my sig doesn't work, I'm working on fixing that...)

Emails now work.
So when someone replies to a thread that you are subscribed to, you will get an email from IceTeks (
IceTeks@iceteks.com) so from now on you will be able to keep track of what posts got replied to, not that it's too hard here...

I just installed a mod to bump topics without actually posting.
At the bottom of topics where it says "moderator options" it is selectable there... everyone has access to that right?

Cleaned a few things up. Moved the post about the "Bump" Mod as well as another post regarding site updates into this topic. (Can't be forgetting that, Red! Forum and site updates fit into "IceTek Changes"
)

Oh yeah, added a time mod and some other mod... what was it.. oh yeah, the redirect page does not wait, it just brings you directly. So when you hit post, it takes longer to "process".
I also did things hardly noticable such as changing the background color from #FFFFFF to #F5FFFF... that way the logo looks nicer (that's what it's background is).
That's about it.. I think

Oh, and I added a mod on the home page, it shows the latest topics. Not latest posts, but latest topics, so don't get confused if it's not in "order", it's actually in order of topics and not posts, it does update who was the last poster though.
I see my name too often, I got to slow down.

I finally figured out a problem I've been having with skins. This problem was stopping me from making edits to skins that were modded, if I did, it got rid of the mod. That said, I was able to put back the quote button now.

I decided to delete the "ticket igloo" and just have a general welcome/intro forum. So it's pretty much on a who posts first basis - the new member, or anyone welcoming the new member.

We will now be posting updates as individual posts, so I will close this topic.
If you want a specific update to be reposted as a seperate topic so you can put your feedback, just PM me and I can extract it from this topic. All the updates that had conversations have been removed from this topic and started as idividual topic. I'm quite please with that function, first time I use it and it's pretty cool.
