(I blocked some info just in case . Can't see what the big deal would be but just playing it safe, and besides, why should I advertise spam? :D

What makes me laugh is that some of these are contests, if I would happen to actually win a big ammount of money, whoever did this would look pretty stupid. :biglaugh: I think I know what group of people did this, but that's not a problem. Here's the funny part, my reply. Can't wait for the response. Because of my action taken, I at least hope this was done maliciously and not by accident. I suppose if someone has an e-mail address similar to mine it could of been mistyped, but I'm 90% sure it was done maliciously, and I'm just laughing at it. My source of entertainement for tonight. The person who did this is screwed if I can get their IP addie, I will check to see if it matches with the trolls here, or even stuff as far back as the PC411 script attack - we do keep that information. It's behind a 19 character password and backed up mostly every day. Administration is SO much fun!!!! :N2 attack:

Just an update on all of this, I found out the name of the person who did it, and it's RaymondK Hessel... just in case he's reading this now... Once I get the IP, they might get a cute little email from their ISP. :D

:caution:

Laughs are over now, well for the person who did it anyway. I have the IP at this moment, and I'm in the process of determining the ISP, and contacting them.

So this stands as a warning in case the person who did it sees this.

I still think it's funny that I got free condom samples from a specific one... lol

I even got a few morgtage quotes.... geez, people know how to waste their time. :biglaugh: It's not hard to click unsubscribe, and email a few for the IP addie... we got the data. :handintest:

Not sure, but in my case it was not a spam bot that just picked up my address - but someone signing me up to unsoliciated lists, so I could easly unsubscribe anyway. But the confirmations one saying I switch my mortgage and bought a new car are the scary ones. I contacted the isp of the person who did this, and I can't wait to see what will happen. This is something the police could get involved, but I think if the person get's disconnected from the net it's good enough. :)

*checks mail for more free condom samples*

I think it would be a great idea if governments gave out free condoms. That way, people may use them more often. :roflmao2:

Ah Spam.. where would the Internet be without you?

One of the things you folks have to watch for is that you can wind up getting SPAM from sites which you thought were ligit. For Example, I supscribed to the C.NET TechNews Newsletter a long time ago, and ever since, one of my e-mail accounts has been bombarded by spam. Another one was that my mom subscribed to the Ontario Liberal Party Newsletter (So she can see what's going on in the liberal party... not sure if she's a liberal voter) and ever since then I've had the family account bombarded with spam every day. The main part is to watch where you post your e-mail...

Excellent Choice.

I keep a free e-mail account open at Yahoo! to avoid some of the spam, but it somehow never fails to make it to my real account.

That's my main problem I just use my isp's pop3 account for everything, never got hit until now! The investigation is still on, not sure if Verizon got my email yet, though. When I start getting free condoms along with mortgage quote request responses I really start wondering. :P

heh heh.

Just an update on my spam experience. I got the IP, contacted the ISP and it seems to have stopped now. That should teach 'em!

so if ever a situation like that happens to you, reply to a few of the confirmations (especially the more professional ones) and you should be able to get IP and date information and from there you can do a trace route and contact the ISP. :)

Bite me and I bite back. :no no no: :roflmao2:
