Ok I was thinking, once I get a full time job I want to move out, that means paying my own rent. I definatly won't be able to afford the server at that point.

So what are items that arn't on the donation system that you'd like to see?

Also if I offer a simple file hosting service for like 10 bucks a month, would anyone pay for that? I know there's way better deals out there, but this would support the server. If I can get about 20 people paying that service (players or non players) the server would pay itself. Would probably be like a simple web based upload system or something, something to host pictures and stuff, and I would not monitor the bandwidth though it it would get out of hand I'd have to as the server has max of 1500GB per month.

Server has about 100GB, so at most I can give maybe 10gigs, but if theres interest in this I can see if the cost of a hdd upgrade is worth it (if it's a one time pay, then no problem). Chances are I would not really monitor this very closely so if people go over as long as its not taking up all the space, then it would be ok.

Ridable dragons would probably require a client change unfortunately.

could always bum the idea from raistlins world i think it was.. it was where they pay for bronze, silver, gold, and premium accounts that when u pay for them they last a month per payment and the accounts are given special rewards based upon which upgrade they got and the admins just tag the accounts and the date it was activated till the date it ends... you could be creative with it but it seems like a good idewa

I've thought of that, but thats going too close to charging to play, which is against OSI's ToS and could get the shard shut down. Even the donation system I've always thought it was iffy, but other big shards do it so I assume it's ok, as long as it's not doom arties and such.

I seen some of the listings before that said you weren't "buying" the item, but only paying for the time it took to transfer it. Sort of like where people sell "envelopes" for hundreds of dollars and the bonus is that the envelopes have concert tickets inside them. There is a lot of grey area when it comes to that soft of stuff.
