How long does it take for a plant to fully grow?

It takes 9 days to completely grow provided they are taken care of adequately (watered, potions to take care of issues, etc). On day 9 you can turn it into a decorative plant that no longer requires any care.
Plants can be pollinated on day 7 which can allow you to cross pollinate for new colors/species. If a plant is left alone and not pollinated, it will self-pollinate. Some plants will produce resources after day 9 (seeds, sometimes plant resources like green thorns or red leaves).
TL;DR Version:
- 9 days (under ideal conditions) will allow you to turn your plant decorative (no longer requires daily care)
- After the 9th day, plants will produce a seed (if applicable) and resource (if applicable) every day for 8 more days. After that, the resource bank is spent and the plant should be turned decorative as it is done its cycle
- The total life span of a plant under ideal conditions is about 17 days.
