Hi all, i am struggling a bit with gathering stuff i need for my chars...
I think half my problem is i have started to many char projects, and sometimes i spend a long time trying to work out what i need for them.....

So maybe if i get some info on where to get some of the stuff i need then i might be alright....

So most importantly is powerscrolls and the most important Stat scroll.
I know these come from Fel champ spawns but on the osi shards i never actualy got around to doing one.....
2 reasons for this, first was the fact that getting gold on these shards was insanely easy and i just bought all i needed and carried on doing other stuff...
The other and probably my main reason for not doing them was the ganking by small groups of people....
I dont mind getting killed in Fel, and it happened a lot to me in the days before Tram, but to have 4 people hunt you down and then dance on you screaming "I owned you noob" gets a bit disheartening, so i never actualy did a champ spawn.

So, if i were to tackle a champs spawn, which one should i try and do first?
Also what should i be making as a champ char?
On the osi shards i could esculate an Ilsh spawn to third level with a Bard/Mage, but i remember that being very very hard to maintain and dont remember ever getting a champ to spawn.......

Next is the armour...
Are you guys using enhanced stuff and building suits, or is there a list of the artifact armour on here somewhere, and also where this stuff drops...
Again having a few years away from the game and its like learning a new game again....

So at the moment my main concerns are a couple of stat scrolls and a few powerscrolls.....
I'm happy to give the champ spawns a bashing, but would appreciate some char information....
And then i need to get suited up as my suits are all mix and match of stuff.....

Thanks for reading....
PS, are there any more vendors on the server apart from the few at Luna?

Another thing, how much influence does luck have on this server?
I remember on the osi servers that luck was a bit hit and miss, i had chars with massive luck boosts and never realy noticed a huge difference in loot drops...
Its not easy trying to cram lrc, lmc, mana regen, resists and luck into the same suit......

So many questions but i dont want to flood the board with my noobness....

The chars i am trying to sort out first are
Archer/Chiv/Bushido with healing, would appreciate info on what i should be looking for for him both scroll wise and suit wise...

Mage/Bard

The i have a tailor at 115 skill but cant seem to snag the 120 scroll...

I have a Smith at 100 skill and have yet to get any scrolls for him....

So much to do lol....

1-Easiest champ spawn = Baracoon in Despise

2-Best solo champ character for coon =

a) for people just starting to spawn, necro mages are quick. wraith form + wither + EVs/blade spirits make it fairly easy.
b) with the right gear and stat/skill setup a 'sampire' can solo spawns very quickly. This involved necromancy for wraith form + curse weapon + a whirlwind weapon. Takes a while to get all the right gear, and is hard to do harder spawns on this type of dexxer, but works really well for Baracoon.

3-Luck has a direct effect on your % chance to get an artifact on this server. However, like most ultima shards, luck seems to have no real effect on actual loot items. I personally hold the belief that it is farm more worthwhile just to use a suit with the bests stats possible so you can kill more monsters in a shorter period of time. Clearly with more mobs killed there will be more items, and therefor a greater chance of getting loot that is worthwhile.

Sanders spawn no longer exists. It's been discontinued as a normal champ spawn.

I concur with d, make a necromage and do baracoons in despise. Check out t2a spawns too, there are a few that are just as easy but with no chance of being raided on this server.

Ok, reading up on the necro/mage....
Keep in mind skill cap is only 700 and stats are only 225 (no scroll yet)

Necro 100
Spirit 100
Magery 100
Eval int 100
Those are definates..
Now should i put Spell resist in? or is that a useless skill?
Maybe inscription for the magery damage bonus?

Do you guys use a weapon skill?
Possibly poison for deadly poison fields?...
Or maybe healing and anat for extra healing help without having to cast anything...?

All help is appreciated....

100 Mage, Necro, SS, Eval - like you said those are the meat and potatoes of a necromage build. Those should get scrolled up to 120 when you are lucky enough to get the scrolls. So that leaves you 220 pts to work with, or 1 more legendary skill and 1 gm that will also go up to legendary we your skill pt cap increases.

First of all you could use a weapon skill. There are some great mage weapons abailable, however having a weapon skill lets you equip slayer weapons. For a spawner, wrestling has been the best weapon skill in my experience. Slayer books are easy to come by. Some of the custom books on Valor are great, depending on the needs of your suit or template. And another benefit is even though books can be disarmed, you do not loose the defense and offense bonus of wrestling while you wait to rearm your book. Remember, you will be in fel, and you might have to defend your spawn. Especially since you are posting about it.

The other skill should be Resist, it will make the biggest difference in your success. All champs, that I can think of, have at least 1 tier with a lot of magic users. Although not impossible, it will be difficult to complete a champ when every 5 seconds you are getting paralyzed. Your idea on poison fields has worked well, but it gets difficult to cast a high level spell when you are repeatedly blasted with 1st and 2nd level spell spam. Poison fields worked GREAT on the Sanders spawn, back when you could get fel tots from the vorpal chickens...

Remember, you can build a pvp mage, a pvm mage, or a spawning mage. Don't try to cram too much in a template. Poisoning and scribe are great skills, but they won't fit. They are better used on a different type of template.

Thanks again Dr....
Yes i realise that i will be in Fel and i am openly advertising the fact, but i have a few things in place to hopefully equal that out a bit....
I have watched you a couple of times doing the Despise champ, trying to get a few pointers, but obviously i cant get to close :D

So
Necro 100
Spirit 100
Magery 100
Eval int 100
Wrestling 100
Resist spells 100

Not sure on my last 100, but will get this sorted for now....

Stats i presume i can go with maybe 25 dex and the rest in int and str?
Being wraith form lets me push through fel spawn so losing stam shouldnt be to much of an issue?

IIRC, wraith form only allows you to push when you are at full stam. your gear will have stat bonuses on it, so you should try to keep a somewhat even balance of stats. Wraith form lets you leech mana, so find a good trade off between stam and int so you can keep going without getting blocked.

Bubbles - there is always a trade off somewhere, I have some mages scrolled to 120 scribe too. However most of the time there are more useful skills that I could put the 120 points into. but it still depends on gear and play style, so what works best for one person won't be the best for another.

This is from the stratics board about wraith form, does the same rules apply to this server?
Transforms the caster into an ethereal Wraith, lowering some Elemental Resists, while increasing their Physical Resist.

Caster receives ability to walk through people in Felucca without losing stamina/being revealed.

also on the topic of spawning, it would be wise to create a second character to be at the spawn as a protector. By using the protection virtue, the protector would receive the same scrolls as your spawner. It comes in handy when you get a 120 mage or eval.

Having a second character around the spawn will help in other ways too, such as healing.

This is true. But it is missing the most important bit of information: Wraith form provides the user with mana leech for all forms of damage they do. So casting wither at a champ spawn while in wraith form makes it so you never run out of mana.
