Ok if I keep the shard on the curent paid host, will you guys continue to play? I'm debating on just sticking with the payments, I saw that today for a few hours we actually had 10 people on, not sure if it was a fluke or not, but if this can stay, I'm willing to continue to pay for the server.
If theres anything you think should change to encourage players to stay, say so here. As long as it's nothing involving undoing weeks of work, like removing AoAs or something to that extent. But if you do think the custom stuff is really keeping people away, then maybe I can consider going osi clone... but I honestly don't want to do that.
I really want to keep the current host but if it's only 1 person online including myself, like it has been for the past month, its just not worth it.

Hey Squirrel,
I'm newer to this server, coming from Demise. Was in 7-11 on there (Crog says hey
). I personally was attracted by the custom stuff. I honestly think it brings something to the server that others are missing. I mean, you could even expand the custom stuff, like custom designed houses in the interfaces and even custom towns if ya get to it. Custom content is like a new adventure for old players. If OSI players come onto the server, they can do new things and STILL do the older things cause ML stuff is coming so fast with you (amazing job, by the way). I think it's stupid how Age of Valor doesn't get the recognition that it deserves and I'm already starting to tell friends about AoV. Maybe we'll start getting a good player base and get AoV on it's way!!
Big difference is, if all the shards do get ML and actually update all the way till they can't update anymore, AoV will still bring new stuff to the table with its custom content and new adventures. I believe this should be a headstone towards the future of AoV. Maybe make a statement like "When all reach the end of the road, AoV is still pushing the limits", or something like that

Welcome to Valor Halios.
Its a really great shard to play on, and I for one have recognized this since it started up.
I have gotten anywhere from 10-15 players signed up on the forums and on the shard. The ONLY complaint I receive from people is "No Players!" Everything else, people love! My roommate started a character and account on valor, and the only reason he doesn't continue to play here is because there's "No PvP." Which he is definately right on. I mean, when it first started, EQ-R, TaR, NOES and the rest of the Shadowlords alliance went toe to toe with S4X almost everyday. There's was tons of pvp. And to be honest, I don't know what the hell happened. lol.
This shard has potential, and the only thing it needs is players.

Yeah for sure, and its hard to get players since everyone thinks alike "needs more people" then log off. And I think thats the problem we're hitting right now, it just so happened that everyone decided to think like that at same time.
But a while ago there was 10 people which I have not seen for months. I would love to see it hit 30 steady, it hit that for a few hours once. I had lost hope, but maybe not all hope is gone, I'll continue to work on the peerless and try to get those going by the next few weeks or so. Then I'll figure out how I'll go about coding the recepie system. That probably involves me freaking out at how horribly coded the craft system is, and recoding it from scratch.

You know what also is probably a big one? SPELLWEAVING! I as well as many others are so interested to see what it can do, and I think this would be a big one for a lot of players.

Yeah I would definately want to add that. That will be hard to research on though, but guess I can improvise like I did with the ML special shots.
I think it would be safe to say this would be one of the first shards with spellweaving, if I did code it in.

Actually, it would be the FIRST shard with Spellweaving, I believe. And that would be a natural addition to the shard, bringing in people. But, we should start recruiting some people right away and get the shard going. I'm grabbing some friends and showing them AoV in the next couple of days. I'm sure they'll love it!!

Well from the looks of it, traffic might just pickup, thanks to everyone who is recruiting.
So I have decided to keep paying for the server. I sent a ticket to cancel the request of cancelation. I'm not sure if its too late, but if it is I'll just get another server right away after it goes offline.

Spellweaving wouldnt be so hard if Travis let me use his OSI acc for the research purpose... or Crog. Whoever comes first.
Eby, S4X died cause I'm the unique CoM left. Rat had to quit, WarriorMan and Lymus simply *vanished*. If more people come, Ill gladly start fighting again.

Red's been working hard to bring UOML stuff to the shard. Things might not be "exactly as OSI" but the reason is lack of information. Anyone with an osi account that could help with researching and could prepare some videos/demonstrations or screenshots would certainly help to make things accurate and speed up development in certain areas. Also, your feedback is crucial to the wellbeing of the shard. If you think a weapon or piece of armor is too powerful or something is just "not right" please feel free to start a thread to comment about it. It's a shard built for the players and if you don't let us know what you don't like, we can't think it over and we'll assume everything is alright. If there's validity in your reasoning, chances are we'll fix it up as best we can.

I also think that it's the custom stuff that sets this shard apart from the rest. Don't sweat it, it takes time to build a player-base.
But there's one thing that bugs me, lowering the demitel artie chances... why? They are hard enough to kill, and it's not like those arties are flooding the server. In fact, there are only 2 or 3 of some on the entire shard.

Yeah I think the rate is fine as it is. 10% with no luck and 20% with 1k luck (max for those). If anything I can lower it to 15% max with 1000 luck. Just need to divide the luck in two in my formula.

They are supposed to be team-based, they are hardly any hard with a team. Hence why I'm lowering the chances. Or I can bump them to the stats of paragons, your pick.
The Demitel bosses were supposed to be *way* harder then they are now, since every single one of them has a weakness that can be flawed and used into the player's advantage. The unique boss that achivied team effort is the paragon version of the blood beast and Humus (which needs a whole team, no matter what). Ah, and the crystal daemon.
I will consider not increasing the chance for now, but as the shard grows, it will get reduced.

I was thinking of just adding massive hp regen to all bosses. I'll see if theres a basecreature flag I can set for regen rate. This would make it so you need a certain amount of DPS to even have a chance, so it would require a team no matter what.

I was actually joking arround a bit really. lol What Ill do is finish all the bosses, test whats needed to kill them easily, and so on. Once I finish it, there will be no problems at all, and they *will* require team effort.

It's perfectly fine to make the demitel bosses require a team effort. However, I would not change them until the player base increases. Maybe when there are ~40-50 regular players on the shard, it will not be so hard to find a team to take them down. With 10-20 people, it's usually too hard to form a team. Bumping them some more with such a player base would make those arties impossible to get.

If you ask me they are fine now, there are easier ones what are actualy funny to kill anfd then there are things like humus which are total annoyance.
If its not broken dont fix it.

Exactly, hence why I'm fixing.
My point is: These arties werent supposed to be in-game yet. They were to come *only* when people could afford teams. That was the original idea. Then we made then easy (way too easy) and left then in a "Normal" difficult atm.
