i cant steal anything in doom with my thief
all i get when i use the skill on a stealable it says it cant be stolen
then i got eaten by a rotting corpse

I ran into that with one item the other day, not in Doom though.
Haven't been to Doom in awhile. I'll check that with mine too just to double check it.

Ok, here's what I found out in Doom.
When I stole the rock it left another just like it in it's place, this one says You can't steal this if you try to steal it.

The deer, the cocoon, the egg sac and the brazier all said You can't steal this also.

The skull candle, leggings, studded tunic, stretched hide and gruesome standard all stole like normal and did not leave another in their place.
Didn't try the goat.

Existing stealable items before the server core transfer are probably stealable. Seems to be that any new stealables that have spawned after the core change are not retaining the flag which allows it to be stealable. Either way we'll check into it and see what we find out.

Khaldun is like this now also.
IIRC from this morning I tried to steal these things and was told You can't steal this for all of them:

Tentacles of the Harrower, Barrel, Lilypad, Blood.
I did actually steal the lilypad but it left another in it's place that was not stealable, like I experienced with the rock in Doom the other day.

I think I know what may be happening. EA probably added statics in those exact locations so sometimes when you go to click it clicks the static and not the actual item We'll have to move the stealables slightly if that's the case.

Looking into the issue to see why the items cannot be stolen. Some stealable flag or something is likely not being retained.

Spawned items were overlapping on server reboot without the stealable flags. This has been fixed and cleaned up so all stealable items in dungeons are stealable again as of January 6, 2012.

This is actually still an issue. i haven't done much pillaging but the harrower tentacles in Khaldun weren't stealable as of about a week ago.

Stole Tentacles of the Harrower, and there's an unstealable one left behind.
