I'm thinking of offering basic hosting on the server to try and cover costs. This is a windows server, so I'm very limited in what I can do. I was thinking basic FTP/HTTP (if you have a domain/subdomain you could redirect it here to use it) and maybe, a web based file management system if I can get php to work, but last I tried thats next to impossible on windows. This service would be good for hosting files and such, like RPVs, images and things of that nature and for basic web hosting. Don't really care what you'd do with it, as long as it complies with US laws or I can get wtfpwned by the US goverment.
I'm not sure on pricing yet but I was thinking something like 10GB disk 50GB bandwidth for 10/month. Now I know there's better things out there, but
1: lot of them overcrowd the servers and actually can't support what they give - if everyone uses it, they're scrwed
2: You'd be supporting the shard. I would limit this to maybe 20 customers max, that would be 200/month which would cover the server costs so the hosting would not be on an overcrowded server either, like some hosting companies.
But before I even bother setting this up I want to see if anyone is interested.
