Item drop idea

I have an idea to possibly spur interest, or at least passing interest, in regular monsters. I have noticed, on almost every server, including OSI, that players are mainly only interested in high-level mobs. Only those things that drop arties (which are overrated), basically. With a few exceptions.

Recently, OSI added a drop to gypsies that was a one in 25,000 chance to drop on the corpse. It was moonstone jewelry that would change color and color shade depending on facet and moon-phase. (This was useful back when moon-gates would only send you to a certain location depending on the moon)

Regardless, the idea is sound. 10th anniversary artifacts worked for a while, inspiring interest in the old dungeons, but they were, once again, artifacts. And they were/are weak in comparison to looted/crafted items as well as regular artifacts. So, I propose that various monsters, from very low level (even animals) to the highest level (except bosses, which have their own), have some sort of special drop that is very rare to get.

They would drop very rarely, perhaps depending on how difficult it is to kill. (I assume the rate should be pretty standard however, since many can drop a dragon in only a few more hits than they can an orc)

Examples would include, in my mind, something that coincides with the mob itself. So, for example:

-A frost troll could drop its apron, with varying blue shades.
-Zombies could drop decayed body parts with different shades.
-Evil mages/lords could drop books of knowledge.
-Ore elementals could drop stacks of ingots, both small and large (same graphic as gold bricks artifact), in their respective ores.
-Krakens could drop rusted anchors of ships they have personally sunk.

The list could go on and on. All items would be either decoration, or equipable with no properties, or so few/non-useful properties as to make them decoration pieces. This could spur the creation of museums. People who have collected all variations of a drop, or have constructed a whole set of decayed body parts in the same shade, etc, etc.

Perhaps with the very low chance of getting a neat piece, people would perhaps begin doing dungeon crawls (which are extremely fun, in my opinion), compose raids upon orc forts, clean towers of their filthy inhabitants, etc.

The items would not be better than those items that high-level bosses drop, nor would they be that useful, but perhaps people would not simply run past them, or kill them and walk away without looting, if there was the chance that a piece unique to that monster could drop, however rare.

Essentially, this would add a bit of randomness to the entire world of AoV, and would encourage adventuring, and walking into places people normally don't go. Killing a mongbat may not net you much gold, but perhaps someone would kill one if there was the chance of getting the spine of a mongbat's wing, perhaps able to be transformed into a bat slayer dagger at some point.

Just an idea.

I have heard of moonstone jewelry and the hillarious stories that surround them (People trying ages to get them, by doing the wrong thing). It's a good idea, gives stuff to do for the extremely dedicated. A few monsters on AOV have something similar to this system, but the items they drop aren't that rare. I don't see why these items cannot be added in the future as they are mainly "collectibles".
