I am recording video's and shit of my house to post on face book for my fam's on the other side of the country.
These things are like 700mb for a couple of minutes!!!!! how can i squeeze them down?

If it's recorded in AVI it's probably going to be huge. I believe you can compress them down to save space, then you can host them on youtube or something.

Red does numerous videos for AOV and somehow manages to get them down in size so he may be able to give some pointers.

I usually just use something like Sony Vegas, then you can save as a different codec. Takes a lot of playing with until you find a codec and setting that works ok. Some codecs can be very picky about video dimensions and will crash. I think I normally use xvid for the AoV videos, but it's been a while since I made one.

You can also use virtualdub to do a straight out conversion to another codec.
