This is a guide to ML Artifact farming in the Mushroom Cave Area.

I do this whole area easily with a 120 swords 120 tactics 115 anatomy 120 resist 100 necromancy 110 heal 35 chiv character. I always play in vampiric form for life leech.
This area could easily be done by a new character with decent resists on their armor and basic GM skills.

Onto the guide
-> It pays to always be mounted in this area.
-> Always have a weapon that can disarm with.
-> Always have a reliable way to regain hitpoints even while poisoned.

The first named creature Swoop is any easy enough critter to kill. Swoop does have an armor piercing ability. Just hit hit hit heal hit hit hit heal. Swoop has a small ML Arti chance.

Past the swoop you will run into 3 changleings. Just attack like normal until they morph into you. Once this has happened Disarm them and drink coffee while you cut them to bits. Disarming a changleing makes them basically useless. (For more advanced tips see below).

Grobu you will find in his cave with some Dire wolves gaurding him. He bleeds attacks which is nasty but thats what your leech it for. Dont let to many of his spawn (Dire Wolves) build up but dont let them distract you from taking grobu down also. He is quite easy and has a small ML Arti chance.

Now if you press on past Grobu's cave it is time to pay more attention to what your doing. The next area is VERY dangerous.
An arachnid slayer will help here but is not essential.

A few tips first. There is a bit of small spawn here. Do not walk through the area's that cause Black Widdows and Dread Spiders to spawn; you will figure out where these are quite fast. There are spider webs around and they will stick you in place if do not avoid them. They are annoying but also set you up to be insta-killed by the creatures here.
You will find some large hard hitting named spiders here. These are not be under estimated.

Lady Sabrix is the first of them. She has poison and armor pierce as a special and you can expect she will use it. Expect over 40 damage from this. Try to fight here with out running around and attracting to much attention from the other creatures in the area. Best practice is to hit hard and take her down a.s.a.p. and do not run around.

Next is Silk on the enterance side of the area. Silk is not overly dangerous low damage out put but Silks paralyze ability can take it toll if your being attacked by more then one creature. Silk has a small arti chance Do not run around while fighting.

Directly opposite Silk is Lady Lissith. This spider has high level poison and hits 9/10 times so be fast when you attack her, leech plenty of life to counteract the poison. Lissith has a small arti chance. Do not run around while fighting.

Virulent is next on the same side as silk but further down. Virulent has high level Poison magery and double strike. If you run Virulent will teleport on top of you and poison and double strike you so you best to go toe to toe with this beast and hope you can heal and leech your way through it. Double flame strike and double and double strikes are something you should expect here. High level arti chance is your reward for slaying virulent. And do not run around while fighting.

Malifec is the only boss left we are going to cover in this guide and if you got through virulent malefic should not present a large hassle just be prepared to be dismounted. High level magery but no poison. A nice arty chance nearly as high as virulent. Do not run around while fighting.

Now while you are killings these critters your going to run into Spite and also Lrk. These creatures will slow you down and get you killed. Specially since one they morph into you they are going to take a month of sundays to kill. The best practice for these little nasties is to lure them right around past swoop to where you first enter the area. leave the area and then run back in straight past them back to the spiders area. This is to leave you free to kill spiders with out having to worry about these serial pests. You could keep disarming and killing them but for their arti chances they arnt really worth your trouble.
Now you have plenty of room if you have to bolt out and heal with a paragon virulent chaseing you because there are no changleings waiting to hammer you as soon as you leave the spider area.

If you follow all the things mentioned here you will be able to farm this area for ML arties no problem. I do it this way constantly. And its profitable because there are so many monsters carry high and low arti chance in this one area.
