Slayer Suggestions

I was thinking maybe have special crooks or staffs (or be my best friend and make it certain 1 handed weapons) to have slayer property that gives pets the bonus as well.

Also, maybe have the slayer effect from books apply to Spellweaving as well.

Tamers do lack the ability of slaying for their pets. UOSA has introduced some unique pet boosting items, so it is a possibility that we can create a quest reward that would allow you to feed your pet a treat to give it a temporary slaying property. Something to think about, but the slayer should apply to the pet and not the tamer as it is the pet who is doing the fighting.

As for spellweaving slayers, it is a possibility in the near future, we just need to be able to define what exactly a slayer should affect and what it shouldn't. Right now, slayers need a lot of work in their definitions as OSI as well as AOV have not really followed a direct path that makes sense.

Parrot talismans are unique for RP purposes. I kind of like it actually, having a parrot familiar flying around with a running commentary. Something to play around with when I get bored.

i voted no. there are plenty of pets that do enough damage as is. pets are not mainly used because of their damage, they are used because they take the damage rather than their owner. if you give them bonus slayer damage, they will have the best of all worlds.

I have to agree, Jackels are to powerful allready can you amagine them with another bonus!

I'm tired of using jackals all the time, I wanna use something else and be just as useful or at least almost.

What if you nerfed jackals and then added pet slayers?

There's the idea of adding in pet slaying treats to give pets bonuses, which would follow a similar UOSA trend with the introduction of "pet consumeables" such as tasty treats. For those unfamiliar with the concept of pet consumeables, here is an example:

An item such as this would give pets the ability to become slayers (with the same pros and cons of weapon slayers).

Now, others have stated very good points in this thread about not giving the best of both worlds. Pet fighting is very different than other fighting types, and must be treated as such.
