Will it be legal anytime soon? I'm looking to start slowly, but want to macro my way in before I really hit it.

No it's not legal, and the chances of it being made legal in the future are very slim. We tend to watch people do it for a while, THEN act, too, so best not to try.
Oh and like Bugs Bunny would say...
