The revamp is done in different stages. Red is currently doing work on the SQL portion but he took a break to work on another project so that he can generate income to keep hosting the shard. He's also thinking of different strategies to speed up saves.

I am working on restructuring mobiles (that's fancy talk for making sure that monsters and other interactive creatures are coded properly as well as coded accurately). This work will also be used to reconstruct loot intensity which will then be used to renovate craft, loot and instanced loot systems.

When I figure out how to adequately weigh loot intensities on a mobile per mobile basis. Then Red has to code it in and it needs to be tested. It's not a small project, it depends on a lot of different factors.

What I can say, however, is that the loot intensity break down is currently going alright but a few things are off so as soon as I finish my script red can start coding the property system so that loot isn't completely wonky.

We don't want to tell any date as it gives us too much pressure to try to release by then. It's best to do it right, then do it on time, but it not being right due to being rushed.

I think MS has learned this from Vista. ;) They were 2 years behind schedule so they decided to just release it even though it was not ready. It was epic fail. They finished it, re-released it (windows 7) now it's epic win, at least according to what I hear. I feel sorry for those poor bastards that actually upgraded to vista right away... had they waited a bit longer they could of just skipped it. :P

We don't want to rush an update because we're behind schedule and make a UO Vista.

I don't want to make a promise, but I think we will still be able to release in 2010. I was personally hopping to release in first quarter but I'm looking at 3rd or 4th, but again, not making any promise, it could potentially take longer.

When areas are completed, players are informed of the completion. This is normally the case but the SQL project was so large scale and ran into numerous issues that it is stuck in development and testing and hasn't really moved status or allowed us to work on different areas.

I am working independently on a different area of the revamp while red fixes that up so hopefully we'll start seeing some updates to the revamp thread for actual content.
