Almost every place i try to put a house it says that the are is invalid, is there only certain places you can place?

Almost every place i try to put a house it says that the are is invalid, is there only certain places you can place?

What kind of house and what area? There are many places you can put a house but the terrain is often finicky. For example, there are numerous places in malas that look like good spots but the land is not flat. Often times, a rock or a small static will block house placement as well.

If it says it's invalid, something is probably blocking the location. If that is the case, either move to another spot or try placing it a tile off. If housing weren't allowed, it would say "Housing is not available in this region".
