Can you mod something so that when a house collapses the items dont disapeer so someone can take the items and they dont go all to waste.

In the future, the auction house will likely take a cut of items that are lost or fall from IDOCs so that items that are lost are retained by the auction house and sold at auction at a later date. Right now, the items fall under the normal decay process so you need to be around to actually get the items. If we just let all the junk sit indefinitely, the item count and lag would eventually soar. People have houses in really remote locations and you might not discover that IDOC for weeks or months.newguy wrote:Can you mod something so that when a house collapses the items dont disapeer so someone can take the items and they dont go all to waste.

Probably for a while, and then at that point it would go into some kind of recycling/landfill. SA has a system like that so we'd probably use that system.
Once SQL is fully implimented item count will almost be a non issue.

That's trash barrels mostly and not really linked to overall item decay. Either way we'll have some kind of item recycle system where a certain % of decent items are sold at auction.Red Squirrel wrote:Probably for a while, and then at that point it would go into some kind of recycling/landfill. Why not move them into packs of already spawned bosses or something? Kill a DF and its pack has a gAoA in it

That could be a fun idea but it might lead to confusion as to how the heck it got there. In the future there will be a tag labeling system where you can find out the origin of any item you see (You see somebody wearing a totem of the void, you wonder where you get that kind of item, you target his totem and voila! Tells you where you can obtain it).dprantl wrote:Why not move them into packs of already spawned bosses or something? Kill a DF and its pack has a gAoA in it
Although, that could be a good idea for a boss that tends to horde lost goods. Instead of them getting deleted or sent to the auction house, a certain percent of those items would end up in its pack. Could make for an interesting hunt.
