Hello,

I use to play UO back in 99-00'

I really liked it, but had left it to play Asheron's Call.

I would like to play this again on a free shard, because it's free and I'm completely burnt out on the other games I have been playing.

I have a couple questions since I noticed one of the postings on the main page.

Something was posted about closing the server to the public due to spammers/hackers/grief players... well I don't know much about how to go about joining a free shard, but if the server is closed to new comers, may I request an exception?

I am an honest player and generally keep to myself. I just want to kill lizard men.

Also, if I cannot join this shard is there another you might recommend?

Thank you,
Heroku.

Welcome,

Yes, the shard is currently not accepting in game applications. This is for two reasons:

1) Due to some problematic players as well as forum spammers, we are increasing our security methods to better handle and remove problematic people before they get out of hand and waste the time of the staff and developers when they could be doing something to benefit the shard.

2) The shard is being revamped to follow more closely with OSI. It's something we should have done from the beginning at shard birth but we did not plan for the server to progress this far so new changes need to be made to the architecture to better support Mondain's Legacy systems.

Although the shard is closed to new players, you may be able to request an account to the shard owner. Please be advised though that the current, live running shard will be different once the revamp project is complete.
