What is the timer for growth checks on here? Usually it's 24hours on other shards I've played but I've waited 36hours and my plants are still on stage one. :(

Is it possible that it skipped the first growth check cuz you just planted them x long ago?

now i have no idea if this is what happened but its a possibility.

Right now it's actually really badly coded, it's based on world saves and server restarts. Eventually that will be changed to be a true 24 hour timer. When you factor in the time it takes for world to load, save etc it ends up shifting the time a lot.

the system does a growth check after the first full session of being planted. SO... if you plant a plant right now, it will grow to stage 2-3 2 softboots from now because it works in a 24 hour period. So the growth points reset to the softboot. wow that got all crazy stupid.

lets try it this way,,

stage 2-3 == 48 hours after planting
stage 3-5 == 24 hours after first growth spurt
stage 4-6 == " "
....
..
....
stage 7-9 == 24 hours for 1 growth level.

make more sence?? I hope so.

and use my plant tool it really works and really helps.

PS..

when you start your plants, use fertile dirt, and hit the plant with 1 great strength pots. That will give the maximum spurt of atleast 2 sometimes to stage 3 on the first spurt.

I'm far too lazy to farm fertile dirt but I do use strength potions on them while they're saplings

Could I get a couple hundred of that fertile dirt? I don't need 2k, but some to help me start the plants would be fantastic.

you do know you can scoop up reg dirt pretty much anywhere you see it? all fertile dirt does is take 1-2 days off of the growing cycle. When plants reach the critical stages later on, stage 6-9+ fertile dirt makes little difference. In fact thb, the only realy advantage to fertile dirt is less disease. But if you know how to care for the plant then again, the fertile dirt is really not worth all the hassle.

I also built a plant tool to help you care for your plants.

Fertile dirt gives a random increase in chances to skip a growth cycle so it can sometimes be beneficial if you're looking to grow a plant a bit quicker (If you're lucky, it'll skip a bunch of growth checks).

If gathering fertile dirt is a daily process for you (Such as you're killing earth elementals anyways to gain skill and dirt is in their corpse) then it's probably worth getting. If you're making a greenhouse of plants, you'll probably want to find a supplier of fertile dirt or do a day of gathering.
