Disable spamming....

What I mean by this is make it so people can't say the same thing in a row.... As in I accidentally hit ctrl + q a bunch of times earlier and spammed everyone.


Also to help with your spammer problem earlier what about a [report command for players.

If a player reports another player there public chatting abilities are removed until it can be reviewed by a GM.

Obviously you wouldn't want everyone to have this ability. So make it so that that you can turn on/off for different people and just give the ability to people you trust. Have it log so they can't abuse it... Just an idea.

I'm planning to add that in eventually unfortunatly right now it's very hard since I'm in the middle of a huge transition. It sucks that all this crap has to happen now when I don't have a proper coding environment anymore, and the current state of the dev shard is not production worthy.

That said I might be able to push in a temp solution. At worse I may have to disable public chat until I find a better solution.

Could you mute specific chars or an account completely? I suppose that still ends up being an alteration to the chat system. Though I've seen chars disrupting events on OSI get muted before, I think. And if they can't talk at all they can't spam chat right?

Yeah it's doable though I will have a better system after the revamp, just have to code it.

OSI already added this into the client. It's a pain in the ass when trying to control pets that keep switching targets.

Has to be server side though, these people just use custom clients. Security has to be done server side. This is actually a big mistake OSI does, lot of their "security" is client side. For example, the tomb stones and stuff in fel. Those are not even statics that are part of the map, they're a different system which the server is not even aware of.
