I recently went back over to the first free shard I joined to see some of the unique buildings they have but there was really no one on. A guy logged on about the same time as me and we started talking about what we played. I brought him here so I am guilty of doing it there though that was not my intent when I went there. But that is pretty blatant advertising though...

Yup, insta ban for advertising there. Shard doesn't seem to use English as their first language so that would suck when it came to trades.

Shards that advertise here get a FREE* advanced security check.

Normally you have to pay very expensive professional security companies for scans to the extent I do. I do it FREE!*

And Ekin actually got banned from RunUO network forums, the same day he told me to F off in a PM as he took something I said personally even though it was not even aimed at him. I had nothing against him, but if he wants to be this way then fine.

Lastly, have to keep in mind, lot of these shards that start out as spur of the moment thing are people with little to no knowledge of servers or programming, and often even get uninterested a year later and shut down. We've been around for over 2 years, at least 4 grand has been invested so far in the shard, we are serious unlike many of these other shards.

In fact that .pl shard wont even resolve for me, it's probably down. Way to advertise a shard that's not even up 24/7 with 99.9% uptime.

I hate to say it but I'm partly responsible for shattered legacy being around. I made a shard for spawners on demise to be able to test templates and such with the ML package from runuo.com and such. Any how he said about he could keep it up and running all the time but yada yada yada. He Ended up making it a public server. I was staff there at one time but i won't go in to that here...

Needless to say all of spawn went there.

Ah, no need to feel bad. They're a slight threat now but I don't really see them as competition. Here at AoV we're not aiming for just OSI clone, but to go beyond. After the revamp SL will be just another of many OSI clones using that very same package. So it's a totally different play style so it's up to players to chose which they want to play.

Gotta admit Ekin knows what he's doing when it comes to marketing as the shard is barely a month old and already has lot of players.
