I heard there's a +20 mining gloves on here?
If so, I'm looking to buy a pair.

Also buying mining PS if anyone has one to sell.
Do those come from blacksmith quests or what?
Mining PS's were a rarity back in the day. They used to drop but were discontinued as there are mining gloves to raise your skill.

Ah, ok.
That was always confusing me because I saw one but didn't know where they came from.

So there is no 120 cap for smiths? If I had a talisman with +13 blacksmithy on it does that mean equipped my Smith is 113 skill? Even with a 100 cap?

GW, You're confusing the talisman's increased success chance with skill points.
a 13% BS talisman would improve your success rate on crafting by 13% above what you'd have without it. 13 skill points depending on your skill level would have a different effect on your success rate (not sure what the formula is). And your talisman would need a separate % exceptional bonus to improve your chances of making an exceptional quality item.
An increase in actual smithing skill points, on the other hand, would improve both.
That said, still buying mining gloves.

Actually... the last I knew, Red screwed it up so that ASH gave NO extra bonus. A 120 smith and a 120 smith with 60ASH hammer equipped would have the same success rate. It had something to do with a few vets like me who have smiths scrolled up to 160 or higher. I dont think he ever corrected his overcorrection.

Ash was never changed. Those are all hard coded into the system and will change once I redo the property system. Rather then have a special skill property that ignores cap, what they did is they hard coded a check in blacksmithy for if you have the ash hammer, if you do it just alters the formula.
Same with mining gloves and such. Those will be redone better once I get to that point.

ash's drastically increase smithing skill. A 30%bs 30%exceptBS + 60 ash and 120 bs gives almost a 99% chance for exceptional anything. Remove the ash from that equation and you have like a 69% chance exceptional anything. 30% makes all the difference in the world. Especially when it comes to using runic hammers.
just my 2cents

STILL looking for some mining gloves.
Surely
someone must have an unused pair they wouldn't mind selling me? I'm sort of broke right now after buying a BS PS from THoG
but I'll work on that.
Interested in buying ingots at non-retarded prices too possibly.
Basically I'd like to do smith quests to get some ASHs, runics, and maybe my very own mining gloves, but I can't get enough ingots.
