Blast from the past

Alright everyone. We all love Ultima Online, that's a given. But from time I time I like to look back on all the classics before Ultima Online. I'm talking about the ancient RPG's (Mind you, Ultima has certainly racked up some years). Everyone remember the days of the text based rpgs or the old school command line rpgs? Personally, these were some of my first rpgs. This thread is a salute to some of the old RPG's we've grown to love. I want to know what other RPG's people used to play before Ultima Online made it so that we can call each other noobs. Here's a couple of the ones that I loved playing:
Castle of the Winds 1 and 2:
These were made by Epic Megagames if memory serves me right (For those who can't remember the classic days of Epic, Epic now makes the super sweet Unreal Tournament series). I personally loved this game and from time to time, I will play it again when I remember it (I still got the original floppy disks too! I remember buying them at K-Mart for like 4$. You just don't get great games for that price anymore (Cept maybe the worms 2 cd I bought for $9.99 one year). I liked this game because it was just pure fun. Nice variety of monsters, weapons and spells.

Ragnarok:
Hmmmm some people might have played this one before. Not Ragnarok online but I heard that it was based on this game. Check out this link for info on it:

This is quite possibly one of the most advanced dos rpg's I have ever seen. The thought that went into this game is just incredible. They thought of things that just made it completely mind blowing. For example, fire creatures could make your scrolls burn up, enemies could make you permanently forget skills, you could make certain enemies extinct, you could kill shopkeepers if you were strong enough and steal all their goods. I could name a bunch of things that this game could do but this post would get really long. The amount of items and monsters in the game is just superb and I will often start up a new game and play it for a few weeks (So addicted to scrolls of knowledge, it's like RPG weed).
