yeah, with insurance and everything in place now, it is my opinion that guild member looting is used more to greif than what it was intended for.

What we could do is make it like the party system where you can choose on the fly if guild members can loot you but we could disable it by default.

I think it's a great idea since yeah, it is used for scamming a lot.

wrongo thats totally not what the invasion system is ....

the invasion system is when a town gets tooken over and after you kill generals lt corpals various military ranks after there all dead they spawn the crimson dragon or order dragon if your doing it in fel the crimson dragon drops a loot pack like a peerless with a random ml arty in its pack ive gotten brightsights from him but in fel ive yet to do one cause im scared cause guards are off and so forth and when a town is under invasion all the NPCs go red and attack you expect the guild leaders like Bob The Healing Guild Master and so forth i'd like to know were your getting your info death and after its dead its has a crazy ass animation and when you first run into the crimson dragon it freezes you for about 10 seconds or so and it says you look into the crimson dragons eyes and the world becomes dark and everything goes pitch black when that happens and when it dies its like a champ gold but its mixed with gems and such it takes about 30 minutes to do

and also it drops random weapons if you do damage the top three damagers get a random weapon like

Crossbow
30 HLD
48 DI
45 SSI

and a spell book like this

3 MR
30 SDI
10 LRC

Man I can't wait to start coding the new property system. It will make coding these special drops so easy compared to now. I'll be able to create a "property mask randomizer" based on whatever stats we gather from OSI then it will randomize the items. We are far from there though. I'm hoping to start on the revamp shortly though I got very behind on serverweave this week despite being off. But I'm slowly digging myself out of a hole as I speak. There's some code that just started turning into a mess and I had to put a stop to it and find a better way to go about it.

I do believe both the words "faction" and "invasion" are in that page for your convenience. I also believe the word "warzone" is thrown in for added sauce. Although I did not highlight the details like you did, I was clearly talking about the same thing.

That's a little uncalled for as it was just a suggestion from a player as some OSI items are in fact, comparable to some aoas. That being said, some aoa's/customs are also above and beyond what is necessary.

From what I've read, everybody is right. Death had a great brief synopsis, and Tony gave us a relatively (abliet tough to read) detailed idea.

From what I've read, I also agree the idea of the town invasion sounds great. It reminds me of the old OSI days, with the old orc or undead invasions, with thick player interaction and roleplaying causes. But this was back when players actually shaped the direction of the shard as opposed to the devs creating a story arc that affected all shards together.

But I digress. From what I read, when a player killed a corrupted evil NPC, he was rewarded with a weapon or spellbook depending on the NPC's rank. (As Tony said). I'm not sure what the ranks are though..at the moment. But at the highest rank, you had the chance at the highest mods (such as MR3 and SDI 30 on spellbooks, and 60 SSI on the archery weapons).

There were also some rare spellbook and talisman drops from a special graveyard monster, but that's a different thread.

The coolest part about this invasion event (in my opinion...and it's because I'm a collector), was that each evil NPC spawned with a suit of armor with a special hue. So players could spend time gathering all these hues to try and nab a full set. None of the armor had any special qualities, it was basically NPC armor, but oh well, it's the novelty that is fun. At least to me.

Anyways, I agree with all who have posted that the event was well done. It supported many play-styles and rewarded them as well.

Was just referring to the general recent attitude of OSI on giving good items to players as part of promotional events. Think ToTs or the recent faction changes.
