Mind Blast Damage

One of the best spells in the game used to be mindblast. In pre-aos it did damage based on stat ratios of your target. Nowadays, in aos, there are tons of + stat items and stat scrolls. This allows you to get a nice amount of each stat, thus making mind blast pretty useless.

I decided to test the damage of mind blast, as well as two common pvp spells. The first was lightning, one circle less than mind blast. The second was energy bolt, one circle higher than mind blast.

Keep in mind, mind blast takes longer to cast than lightning, and has a slight delay (not a useful delay like explosion though). The delay is long enough where the time it takes to cast mind blast until the time it takes to do damage to your target is almost identical to the time it takes to cast energy bolt and do damage. It's damage per mana ratio, along with the comparison of time to do damage compared to ebolt makes mind blast currently pathetic. I believe mind blast needs to have its damage increased to make it a viable PvP spell, it is junk compared to other options right now.

not sure about the stat thing but im pretty sure mb is based on your magery skill now cuz i remember using it alot on a no eval tamer cuz it dose not need it

yes, not it is based on magery + int i believe, but it's damage is still junk compared to other spells.

Eventually we will be looking at ways to balance pvp aspects. As you know, we want to make sure that pvp is balanced and there's no overpowering going on.

With all the changes OSI has done with all their expansions, some spells and items have essentially become useless (Summon creature is one of them).

Your suggestion for improving mind blast damage is a valid idea and you provided statistics to aid us so we can certainly look into improving its damage potential.

Which is good, your statistics and opinions were quite helpful in the past.
