Not exactly sure what you mean by fishing spots being too small. But there are ways to avoid your boat getting hemmed in my corpses.

Unless your throwing a net, it's rare to have two serpents spawn to block your boat. But you can either try to kill it before it gets close (which should be very easy), or, once it gets close to the boat, wait until it moves its body parallel to the deck. That way, it's guaranteed to not block movement. If your throwing a net from a boat, just be sure to throw it straight over the side and not over the bow or stern. If you throw it over one of those two, the spawn will come at you and attack from both sides of the boat, which can block you in, and keep you from looting any monsters that fled when red-lined.

About serpents, I tend to get between 5-10 of them an hour, which to me seems to be plenty. The only complaint I have with serpents is the level one t-map that pops up. It's value compared to nets and mibs is abyssmal. I've been hoping that the t-map from serpents either be removed or upgraded to a higher level map for a long time.

And the reason you can't fish while moving is because your tied to the spot that you target when you d-click the rod. If you move more than 5 tiles away, you won't be able to fish anything up.

Fishing has veins like mining and lumberjacking, hence why the spots run out. It's OSI's way of making sure you're not harvesting the same spot and actually moving around. Probably an afk deterrent on their part.

This does suck but trying to drive a boat over a corpse doesn't make sense anyways (If you think of a sea serpent, how the heck you going to drive your boat over its massive carcass). Arrows and bolts on the other hand are a pain in the ass.

I suggest bringing a smaller boat with you in case you get stuck. You can place the boat on a body of water and jump to the new one. Once you're on it, drydock the boat that's stuck if there's nothing on top of it or in the hold.

It's all random. Sometimes you get 1 an hour, sometimes you get 20 in 15 minutes. See above for the fishing spots small thing ^^.

You can, I do it all the time. The key is to say "slow back" and set a macro to target a relative point near the back of the boat. It may take some time to set up but it does indeed work as that's how I grandmastered fishing.

i dont see what all the fuss is over? I fish for hours and hours. Ive never gotten stuck. And I do fish in roughly the same 200x200 tile area for that period.

You can almost always move one of the 8 directions away from a corpse if you should hit it and become attached to it.

As far as arrows go, scavenger is a great way to remedy that.

Just make it so that you can fish from Seahorseback....

Just set your fishing maco with a part of it using a staff of moses every so often and you wont ever get stuck. You can walk over sea serp carcasses easily ftw.

Fishing does need attention for sure, because if you afk and are not paying attention, you can get jailed or banned. :P

I went to the bathroom once while i had my fishing macro going. I figured AFK for one minute wouldn't get me in trouble. When I got back, I had 3 serpents attacking me. At first I thought it was Death, messing around to see if I was afk. But I had apparently hit a good string and pulled up 3 serpents in a row.

But I think the easiest and best way to fish is just by using a boat. Forget all this seahorse and staff of moses nonsense. I only use a seahorse to do nets and fish up mibs. The bodies of serpents won't be a problem on a boat, as you'll very rarely have two attacking on both sides of the boat at once. And always lure them to the side of the boat before you strike the killing blow.

Boats are lame; staff of moses macro is definitely ftw. I love mine.
