Ya it's kind of hard to price resources as there aren't a ton of guides out there (Although you may be able to find some forum posts out there). However, an idea to create a good pricing guide is to do the following:Dirk wrote:Trying to figure out what is a fair price to charge on each type of wood. I dont see any in game on vendors.
Go out and hunt for an hour, collecting gold. Total up how much gold you got in that hour. Then go collecting resources and tabulate how many resources you got in that hour (per color).
By doing this daily, you can then form some kind of average and compare cost VS time. If you can make more money in an hour then you're selling your resources at, then increase your pricing.
You can try that or you can use a price guide (Like people selling valorite ingots at 125gp per). It's up to you really but I think a good goal to follow is to see how much gold you can make in an hour vs how much resource you can get in an hour and raise your prices accordingly.

You would be correct in the pricing were there more resource gatherers around. However, seeing as we have resource quests which differ from OSI's bod quests, the price of materials are a lot more valuable. If somebody would be kind enough to do a cost/time grid for materials then we could get a decent estimate for the shard.

Just a thought. Hypothetical situation. get quest from bowyer he/she ask for 925 frostwood boards and make lets say 6 reg. bows which require 7 boards each, the amount of boards to complete the quest would be 967 total frost. then u are given a certain amount of gold and hopefully a 50 charge frost runic. would dividing the amount of boards into the total gold recieved to get a price per board amount be an fairly accurate way of pricing wood?

Nah, the gold you get from the quests probably isn't a good measure.Dirk wrote:Just a thought. I would say the best way is to determine a price would be to calculate how much wood you get in an hour VS how much gold you get in a hour VS how many boards you've obtained. So say you made 50k in an hour and gathered 500 oak boards, then that's a rough value (For accuracy, I would average values for about a week or so).

That would certainly help I think. Not many people sell their resources, perhaps because they either don't know what to sell them for, or they would rather turn them into quests. Resource costs are certainly a lot more expensive here because resource veins are random and there's not a large amount of resource salesman due to a lower shard population.Dirk wrote:Im going to do what you are suggesting and I will have the results both from Fel and Tram gimme a week then ill post my results.
If anyone wishes to post their results, I'd be more than happy to create a pricing guide for the content database.

I've been told my prices are steep, but I am the only one that stocks my vendor in 1k increments. And I think the fact that I need to restock shows its not TOO steep.

TBH, those prices aren't too bad IMO comparable to the amount of gold you can obtain to purchase such goods.Plastic Man wrote:http://www.uovalor.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3042
