All the folk in luna have turned into turkeys! What's going on?!
We spoke to one of the changed vendors who had this to say:
"Some wacko wearing a sandy colored cloak had run into luna, demanding that we stop selling turkey legs on all the provisioners and cooks. As you know, this is a popular time for selling turkey meals so we quickly refused. That's when the man went crazy and started trashing luna. He was quickly taken away by the guards and thrown out.
That didn't stop him though. 2 hours later he came back. When the guards blocked the way, he tossed some strange potions at their feet, turning them into helpless turkeys. With the guards no longer a threat, he turned each of us into turkeys and ran off with all our turkey dinners and meat. "
Nobody knows the current whereabouts of the mad alchemist who has been turning people into turkeys. He is considered quite dangerous and should be avoided at all costs if encountered. We will keep you posted as more information is gathered on this crazy man.

PLEASE NOTE: Autolooters are FORBIDDEN AND ILLEGAL for this event. They are normally allowed for solo looting purposes as we understand that they can be useful tools. However, you will be sharing kills with other players so please be courteous to all those who participate. Staff WILL be watching you and if we see you using an autolooter, you will be INSTANTLY jailed, have all your looted items deleted and will not be able to participate for the remainder of the event (Including the bosses). In order to bring an event that all players can enjoy free of scripters, we are imposing this strict rule. Do not let us down as we do not like to jail players, but we will if this rule is broken
We have located the alchemist!
He ran off to the city of yew, yelling "Stop the slaughter!!!"
as he reached the inside of the town, he began breaking everything he could find. When villagers tried to stop him, he tossed a conflagration potion to the ground, creating a flame barrier before him.
"You will all pay. I cannot watch you kill any more turkeys! It is time for us to rise and take you all down!"
Soon, the villagers could hear rustling in the bushes as turkeys began to corner the town. The villagers quickly barricaded themselves in their homes as the mad turkeys grew in numbers. The alchemist threw potions around them, increasing their strength and abilities. What madness!!!
Help save the city of yew from the mad turkeys and the mad alchemist!
LOCATION:
City of Yew (Trammel AND Felucca).
- Trammel: Less turkeys, cannot be pk'd
- Felucca: More turkeys, can (and probably will) be pk'd
Whichever facet you choose to kill turkeys in is your choice, but if you get pk'd it's your own fault
.
WHEN:
Event will be held for a couple of days, through Canada thanksgiving. Starting Sunday night (Today) and proceeding through to the Tuesday (So 2 days). The boss will spawn sometime during the Monday (October 13, 2008) so keep your eyes and ears opened for the exact times (Will be posted on forums and in game).
WHAT DO I DO?:
Go around and kill mad turkeys. Some of them have "mad" loot. There's three different kinds of mad turkeys, but they all look the same! Try not to fall for their delusions as you might end up a ghost. If you DO die, there are healers in the heartwood (Right inside) as well as in other areas.

these holiday mob events have ALWAYS been fun. Personally they are one of the things I enjoy most about AoV =]. I love killin' turkeys, evil elves were fun, and siths were my favorite.

We gathered up a group of fighters to slay the mad turkeys. It proved to be quite challenging and we were able to identify three different types:
1) The turkey minions: Unlike any other turkey we've seen, they were tough but a few blows quickly dispatched them. Unfortunately, there were a bunch of these floating around to confuse all of us. After hours of slaying though, we were able to defeat them, causing a vast majority of them to fly off.
2) The boss turkeys: These turkeys were rather nasty. They seemed to have gained two abilities from those strange potions the alchemist had tossed around. Their first ability allowed them to cast magic, which made them quite fearsome. In addition to strength, they also had the ability to summon more turkeys upon their death. 1 turkey made 2 turkeys, then those 2 turkeys made 4 turkeys! We were quickly overwhelmed and had to retreat so that we could fight one at a time!
3) The gravy birds: The last turkeys were the rarest of the bunch, but some of the most vile beasts we had ever seen. If we fought them up close, they would claw use with their razor sharp talons. If we fought them from afar, they would launch a piping hot substance we've come to call "turkey gravy". Their attacks were quite dangerous and we tried our best to avoid them.
At last, after enough turkeys were slayed, the alchemist appeared from the shadows. Apparently even with the buffed up turkeys, he couldn't prevent the slaughter. Now was the time for him to take matters into his own hands!
Join us to defeat the alchemist! (Hint: Think Barracoon)
LOCATION: Yew (Trammel AND Felucca)
- Trammel (No PKs, special thanksgiving loot (If you die, turkeys can still loot the bag off you))
- Felucca (Power Scrolls AND special thanksgiving loot which BOTH can be looted (It's risky so THINK before you decide))
WHEN: 9pm Eastern Standard Time (That's 1 hour after server wars, check in game for message).
NOTE: You will only receive the special thanksgiving prizes if you actively participate in bringing down the boss. If you do not do enough damage to the boss, you will not get any prizes.
Staff WILL NOT give prizes to players who say that they did not receive any. If you did not receive a prize message upon the boss' death, then you did not merit one.
Staff will ALSO not reimburse your prize if you are in felucca and happen to be killed and looted. The prize bags and power scrolls are not blessed so we recommend a swift exit if you wish to hang on to your belongings (Think of it like any other champion spawn). If you disagree with these rules or feel uncomfortable with them, it is in your best interest to sit out for the event if it surpasses the risks you are willing to take.

The mad alchemist has been defeated!
Turns out he was a super turkey in disguise the whole time, no wonder he was angry with everyone! Even though he's been vanquished, something tells me it's not the last time we'll be seeing him. After all, thanksgiving also occurs in November for some!
Hope everyone had fun with the event. Don't eat that pie too fast (If you locked down your pie and didn't get any messages from double-clicking it, don't worry. It'll be fixed up for SW as we were a little slow on uploading the house access rule. You can still lock it down as decoration in the meantime).
Screenshots will be available for those to see in the near future.
NOTE: Turkeys will remain until tuesday evening so you can still kill the remaining ones for stuff.
