Old problem. Still not fixed.

The Work around: Use a character with smithing as well and use smithing to fill the quest bag. Just make things with smithing liek you would for a smith quest with the tinker quest bag in your inventory.

Have to use blacksmithing to make the weapons because of how the craft system handles materials and tinkering items such as cleavers (It's not the same and yes, it is stupid). The crafting system would have to be redesigned in order to accommodate tinkering which is a task and a half so the current system is what stays, otherwise you wouldn't be able to obtain tinkering runic kits.

Yeah currently items don't actually have a material - which is how the craft system determins if you are crafting the right type. Only specific types such as armor and weapons do. It's kinda stupid imo. Material should have been done at the Item level, or at least make a BaseItem derrived from Item. (stuff like spawners and system items don't need material but stuff like a urn or chair would)

Eventually I want to think about remaking the craft system from scratch. But that is a huge job. Craft system is a real nasty mess and not worth even fixing, need to scrap it and restart.

You should flowchart it and then focus on getting the outline code done. you'd be surprised how fast something can come together when you get a little bit of the whole thing done all at once.

Comprende?

Oh after christmas we're gona code full time. I want to do some major system revamps.

By the end of 2009 expect Linux, Mysql, finished ML, Finished virtue system and other big systems done.

I have a few other projects as well that I want to persue. It involves google maps, and UO... If I pull it off it will be quite something to play around with. ;)

Lot of stuff planned, the thing is finding the time as I got other projects that are taking priority. (But no I'm not leaving the shard behind)

That's not a bad idea actually. Can always plan it out on paper right now.
