So is it a waste of time to keep playing until this happens?

Honestly I hope that you value more people over vets. A wipe would mean many of us never coming back.

No, stuff is still being released and it's not official that the server is actually going to be turned into an OSI like state. Right now we're just getting an idea of which system would be best for the shard.

I understand that things are running as normal now, but when you two decide to clone or wipe the server, what about the people that have stuck it out. Do they loose everything?

If we did do a "shared wipe" we'd just have another shard in server list. Maybe have a custom AoV and a OSI aov or something like that.

Chances of us actually wiping AOV are slim. What we would end up doing in the event of a change is we would add another server branch to the list and dedicate the work to the new server, so both servers would remain but the newer one would get more dedication to it.

But, Will the new server be a fresh start or will it transfer over minus the custom stuff?

Just like TC1, it would be a mirror of the current server minus the changes (So items that were removed, systems, different ruleset, etc).

That'd probably be the best way of doing it.
Or at worse, if I had no way to migrate data to mysql we'd start from scratch.
But I really can't imagine having to redo all the dungeon teleporters and stuff... so I better find a way to migrate the data.
If I do make an OSI clone server it will probably be when I code my own emulator from scratch, so don't expect such major changes for at least another year, if more, if ever.
It's all speculation at this point.
