With my Cu sitting at Wonderfully Happy, he isn't listening very well.
Say he's attacking 2 or more mobs, the first command issued works as intended. If one mob is damaged enough, it'll start to run/walk away. At this point, the Cu will begin attacking the other, full HP mob.
I go to issue the "all attack" macro, but he just sits there attacking the new mob.
There was an issue earlier in the Yomotsu Mines with "follow" (both the context and macro version). No matter how many times I'd feed my Cu and issue the follow command, he'd just sit there like a dope.
Also, while the Cu was engaged with some mobs, after they began to wander away, I'd issue the follow command to try and get him to attack a new target. That wasn't happening.

IIRC, the "all follow" command would make pets move faster than the "all guard" command. They seem to move at the same speed here regardless of the command.
On a side note, this bullshit about pets and monsters running away to cast is well... bullshit. I have brought it up before and you guys seem to think it is a cool addition to the ai. But it made the summoned liches pretty much useless. Now I was out trying to train my new black unicorn and it does the stupid run and cast trick.
Here is how it goes:
Walk 1 step towards monster, cast heal on itself even though it is not damaged.
Run away 5 steps, cast clumsy on the monster.
Run away another 5 steps, cast poison.
Cast heal, even though it is not damaged.
Run away 5 steps, cast mind blast.
Run away 5 steps, cast weaken.
Run away 5 steps, cast magic arrow.
By now the monster is regenerated back to full health, it didn't even need to cast a healing spell.
Repeat this for 10 minutes, at 1 spell every 20 seconds.
Thats how most of the training went. Its another frustrating thing that the admins added while trying to make things cool.

QFT I hate the magical AI on the pets. They don't even get anywhere near their potential.

This is why I haven't trained my Black Uni, why I don't have any creatures that can use magic. There are so many bugs with pets here, it isn't worth it.
This is why I love my necromage, AoV forced me to quit my love affair with taming.

Ya, that's not intentional. Didn't know brunus never gave those things basic wrestling.
Also, we were aware of the issue as there was a ticket opened for it months ago but we've been busy with other projects/life to actually fix it.
I'll see if we can sneak it in with a few other scripts that have to go in anyways.

The pet speed thing is also not intentional, I did notice pets move a bit slower then they should at times. Think the issue lies in the fact that pet movements are actually done with a timer which is not the most efficient way of doing things. I had made the tick rate a tad higher at one point as timers can really lag up the shard and eat cpu if their rate is too small. I'd have to find a better way to go about doing pet movement. I want to make it possible for mobs to run as fast as players, if I choose to (ex: the pk npcs).

Is there a way to make your pets run at player speed when under the Follow command, and the current speed when under Attack/Guard command?
(It would be nice for Guard as well to run quicker, but with the ability to attack under that command, it might be best lumped in with the Attack command speed.)

the weird things I have noticed with pet speed are:
Dragons and such go into fly mode a lot more often. Somewhere I heard that the fly mode was a bad thing because it drained the pets stamina. On the big d I used my tamer a lot. Rarely did my dragon or ww go into fly mode.
The other weird thing is with my yoshis. They will be in follow mode and slow as hell. Just as they start to get offscreen, they kick in the turbo and ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM. They start running just as fast, if not faster, than I am running.

The pet stamina thing is not really coded here or demise. In fact the only difference between fly and non fly is different animation. Basically when they're not flying they're walking, when they're flying they're running. But as far as stamina goes, or being able to go over a wall, there's no difference. (winged pets don't actually fly, just look like they do)
