Red,
The Bowcrafting quests are asking for crazy amounts of wood. I had a quest last night asking for 925 frostwood, and also had to craft 6 bows for the bag. It may be as intended but, seems a little steep imo.

They were increased to compensate for the much higher chance of getting high end rewards

Ouch. 925 frostwood is kind of a lot to get but the way I see it, you're bound to get something nice off that quest.

They do ask for a lot. I don't mind the insane amounts, as it gives my lumberjack something to do. I can nab a lot of other kinds of boards while I try to get up to that high amount.
But the other day I did one for 875 bloodwood boards. Luckily I had enough to turn it in immediately. But my reward was, at least on the item side, deflating. I got a 5 charge powder of fort and 161k. I thought about saying something about it, but the boards were free and the 161k was very nice. But I'd love to see a graph of what the minimum and maximum rewards are within a certain range and intensity...if that is even possible.
I'd much prefer to be able to accept a quest and then look to a guide to see what the possible rewards are before I sacrifice up to 1000 high end boards to receive something I could have gotten with 150 yew or ash boards. (Aside from the gold).
I'm not saying that the recent re-vamp was bad, I'm just asking if there is a potential for some sort of guide to the rewards.
And for the record, the gold amounts in regards to the boards turned in is right on target. At least in my opinion.

Personally I think that this will increase the number of people scripting resource gathering.
I would like to suggest that scripting for resources be made legal, in FEL only. Or possibly remove the possibility of gathering resources in Trammel facets. Then PK's might actually be able to have something worthwhile to do. I'd take my PK'er out more if I knew that there was the chance to get AFK'ers in Fel.
Just my two pence worth......

It used to be legal, but got out of control. It was basically a game against who is the best coder and nobody really played the game.

If we could make scripting illegal, we would be then there would be too many false positives. Trying to catch somebody scripting without concrete evidence is not an easy task. There's so many different types of scripts and although there are ways of noticing that scripts are used, there's no solid way of proving it. Many people on official servers, even OSI, have been accused of using scripts when they were innocent and banned for it.
Therefore there's no real way of stopping scripters, only ways of deterring them.

Also when you're looking for a certain resource you should keep other resources too, so say you get a quest for 1000 bloodwood you get everything not just bloodwood so then you'll end up with lot of materials for future quests.
Also dont forget how hard the standard bod system is compared to this one... runics are usually retarded rare on other shards. On OSI a runic hammer would probably go for a couple doom artys.

I actually agree with Red on this. The sad thing is that a lot of people have higher end runics, but do not have any idea what to craft with them. Everyone pussyfoots around with trading too. I have an idea that there are quite a few high end runics sitting around in bankboxes.

That blows. I think I'll learn from your mistake and not do any quests.
